Talking about political correctness... there are so many nice quotes about this issue, that I agree... but this one is perfect for this thread

"Political correctness does not legislate tolerance; it only organizes hatred."

Jacques Barzun

LOL

If we think about how the whole polemic of Hatred helped the game to sell more than "achieve" any stupid pixel rights revolution should teach us something...

To mean anything at all beyond being a slander term for "opinions I don't like", political correctness has to return to its original meaning, which is "a noncommittal middle-ground-fallacy stance between equally politically powerful options without regard for their actual worth". Which is to say, bullshit you spin in an attempt if not to please both sides then at least not make yourself either side's #1 enemy. "Radical political correctness" cannot exist: if you're deliberately taking a radical stance and actively angering a powerful faction, you're not being politically correct.

So, for example, in the so-called abortion debate, a politically correct stance is "abortion is a terrible tragedy, but we should be empathetic to women who find themselves in difficult circumstances, so we should leave it open as a measure of last resort" blah blah. In contrast, "abortion is murder" and "unwanted fetuses are basically tapeworms" are radical stances. Alienating half the electorate is not political correctness.

TL;DR when you say anyone who sides with "radical feminazis" is being "PC", you're saying feminazism IS the middle ground and their opponents are a ricockulously small fringe group whose interests and values can be safely ignored and disparaged for clear political gain.

tinyE: No. Absolutely not. I never said that and I don't appreciate you putting words in my mouth.

Everyone who uses the term "SJW" is just really really fucking annoying. :D

That's why I insisted on a kick in the nuts. It's quick, effective, get's your point across, and doesn't cause any permanent damage.

monkeydelarge: I was replying to Telika. And you have a better term for social justice warriors?

DarkStormErx: Probably one of the most idiotic comparisons I've read online.

But yes, when I ate there when I was a kid. Not anymore since I'm into Strength training and healthy food. I don't get what you and Fenixp are getting at. Sure they have the decision and right to what gets on their store, just like how I have my decisions not to support such practice. If they were really for freedom they would allow most games and let gamers decide, which by the way, they did but didn't follow through.

monkeydelarge: I agree. Last time I checked, Coca Cola and Big Macs are not works of art that were created to express feelings and thoughts. I guess there is no need for me to warn you about tinyE. I'm sure, now you are well aware that he is the village idiot.

dick1982: call me an ironical intolerant racist hypocrite, but i won't want the people in the thread calling us "SJWs" kicking me in the nuts though. it has to be one-way. me kicking nuts. but my own nuts stay safe and fresh.

i'll buy you a strap-on if you don't find that sexist.
avatar
monkeydelarge: So if you don't want social justice warriors to be called "SJWs", then suggest a better term for such people? Something with 3 letters or less. Something convenient and easy to remember.
SFA,is an easy one.

Good insight, that means that the term is totally out of the term nowadays, because in the effort of making everyone "happy", the "term diameter to the radical both sides" became pretty big.

Saying that someone censors X for political correctness because of feminazis/so that feminazis don't become outraged is perfectly valid use. Not siding with feminazis, they are making bullshit excuses while avoiding to openly side with anyone, while catering to very small vocal minority with paper thin skin.

It's not feminazis that are politically correct, it's catering to them that is politically correct.

Ophelium: He was kicked out of his village a long time ago and they don't want him back. So...probably itinerant idiot?
Good one. ^^

monkeydelarge: Dalswyn the GOG fanboy neck beard troll.
Quite the amusement. I've never been called a troll before, here or anywhere else. It took an exceptionnal being such as yourself and your ilk on this particular thread. I take it your personnal hygiene is impeccable and you're a person of good taste?
I was an English major and I had to Google itinerant so it is entirely possible monkey may be onto something.

Either that or when I wasn't busy studying in college I was busy taking bong hits, so everything my Professors tried so hard to install in me wound up as smoke and resin.

Yeaaaah, you strike as someone terribly clever. :P

So, if Gog is made up of a bunch of "SJW", how come this is not at the top of the upcoming tab?
avatar
monkeydelarge: You still mad at me? I guess the truth hurts...
Mad, no. Though I am completely lost as to what this truth you have supposedly bestowed upon me is.

DCT: wait, GOG is filled with Social Justice Warios? since when?
Were I a better drawer, I'd come up with a Saucy Jocous Wombat. ;)
