Well, this game will be out tomorrow and it will either flop or sell like gangbusters. More than likely, after the whiny "crusaders of truth" have experienced whatever it is there is to experience in Hatred, this game will be forgotten. Life will go on and we will have boobs, chips and sandwiches. There will be the Weekly Staff Picks sale, unless Judas does those, and maybe a release (hopefully of an old classic).

I fell out PC gaming around when downloads and online only were becoming big and only got back into PC games when I came across GOG and whole DRM-free market

Ya its on steam but I dislike drm I can't make a hard copy and put that on my shelf with others
and due ERSB rated it AO it will most likely never have boxed copy of it unless something like the Indie box did it

GOG is a store I really like and want to be big in online game stores

GOG doesn't say why they reject games, that's a fact we have to deal with. Usually there are nondisclosure agreements when making deals to get games, and usually the only answer we're allowed to have is a "yes" or a "no". Sometimes, a "no" means that GOG wants them to polish it up a bit before putting it up on their service. There might be bugs, crashes or technical problems that have to be fixed first. GOG always strives to put out games that run on most systems (there are exceptions though), but Hatred's recommended requirements are a bit extreme. Also, this is the first offering from a relatively unknown studio. I really doubt it's PR flak that's keeping it off of GOG, but the devs made such a big deal about being rejected, so it comes off as a little childish. Maybe it's the devs' attitudes that were a little off-putting. We can only speculate, but just because GOG said "no" now doesn't mean that it will always be a "no". If you really want it here, you might have to wait some time. If you really want it now, buy it directly from the devs.

But the short answer is: they will rarely give a reason because NDAs don't allow for that. GOG might have thought the game was poorly done, but it's not fair to broadcast that out. It's insulting to the devs (despite what anyone feels about them individually) because they have worked hard to make the game and it also creates poor relations between GOG and other developers.
