didn't CDPRED already explain that the reason for the downgrade was due to a second rendering engine being employed? now, granted, it must've been designed from the start differently to address technical constraints but that's still different than scaling back the one that they showed us. it was a different engine. not quite the same as just upping the one rendering engine past reality for the hype and then bringing it back to reality to ship the game later.
as for the Hatred release. come on, the game which consists of an unpopular subject matter is made by polish developers. and any chance of the potential downsides from gog/CDPRED's publisher standpoint due to the game's nature not materializing were obliterated by the game developers having known political connections. edit: and I might add, that's assuming said political connections weren't enough in and of themselves.

You idiots continue defending gog theyre going to find a wise way to rap drm around your necks sooner or later and since youre blind fools you are still going to defend them after that, "Oh Supremtin You Idiotic Hater That's Impossible Gog Would Never Do That", theyre a corporation they will do anything for money ,theres no doubt about it they will go for drm soon since they already went against one of their so called 'Core Principles' oh and they will still have people defending them just like you people are still defending them for the witcher downgrade and their hypocrisy

I just think it's clear the liars are who rule here, and slanderers, and I feel they don't even deserve the little they have for hanging onto that, lies and slander.
