Shit, I was going to respond point by point to be a smartass, but the ability to give that much of a fuck just isn't there.
One thing, though - the game is lame. It is. And why is it lame?
Because they marketed it as being hardcore, no holds barred violence, and yet when push comes to shove, they're just as spineless as every other game designer who won't even put in the ability to kill kids, let alone anything involving serious torture, whether mental, physical and/or emotional.
They can put the character in as much black as they want, have them spout bad dialogue all they want, have them shoot up as many civilians as they want, but in the end, they still weren't willing to cross lines that haven't been crossed before.
That is why the game is lame. Past all the posturing, they weren't willing to say, "We're taking this shit as far as it's humanly possible to take it, and if we end up distributing it ourselves from start to finish because no one else will touch it, then so be it."
Show me the A Serbian Film of video games, and then I'll be impressed, and respect the developers' desire to expose the player to something truly horrible.
But it sure as hell isn't this.
