tinyE: Well in fairness pretty much everything is legal in Mexico. This is a country who's Constitution is written in pencil.
avatar
sharp299: there you're wrong, the complete pharse is,"pretty much everything is legal in Mexico for politicians, to the ordinary citizen, not" I hate that
Okay Okay Okay
I don't like it when people talk out of their ass about where I live, so let me apologize, and I sincerely mean that.
I was trying to be funny there but I think I overdid it and that was kind of shitty.

I do like the *sell* part of the quote, used in a store which doesn't actually support reselling in any way.

lepke1979: Thought slavery was illegal in Mexico. Then again, the cartels are basically in charge, so maybe they legalized it?

And doesn't the above apply to GOG not selling it if they so choose?
I do not know where you heard that, but your ignorance reaches limits, the drug problem is noisy internationally and is not the biggest probem of my country, if so I would not be talking to you. the Slavery is illegal and is paid with jail and life imprisonment. It is stupid and racist of you, compare hatred with the slavery if it is a problem in other countries where human rights are not respected at all.

I'll put a sentence I said again

"- Why the people are so sillly to kill polygons to compare actual tragedies?"

the same mean and ask where is the line, do not mention the First Amendment, the rights of man, when I refer to sell whatever, is within the legal framework, perhaps hatred is not drugs, is not slaves, because you are so dumb to compare a stupid game with tragedies and human suffering!

Yes, and you are just as dumb to compare not being able to buy a stupid game on a stupid web site with human rights, which is exactly what you did in your first post. I'm tying to help you out here and you seem like a nice person but let's be fair about this.

You said it's my right for me to buy and sell anything...not sure why you automatically attributed slavery to racism. But drugs aren't inherently racist, let's buy and sell drugs. Or is that illegal in Mexico too?

And yes, admittedly, I am taking this to an extreme since it's kind of silly how people are getting on this game not being sold here. Especially when we don't know the reason why. People seem to be assuming it's because it's too violent. Whereas, it could be because of the price, it doesn't run well, etc. Not selling the game here is a human rights issue now? Seriously?

But that still doesn't answer the second question. If it's your right or freedom to buy and sell what you choose, doesn't that apply to GOG as well? I guess you should have the freedom to buy what you want, but they don't have the freedom to sell what they want? Sounds somewhat tyrannical on your part.

Ok guys, I know this will probably earn me another "oh, look, the forum police is here" bunch of replies, but seriously. Think about it. There have been at least four threads on this, including this one, and what probably amounts by now to 100 pages. Is there really any permutation of this argument that has not yet been tried here? Can we not just let it die already? Just think about it. We've been over this. We're arguing in circles. Whatever it is you want to add, we've been over this. Let this thread die. Let us find some new bullshit to argue about.

Potzato: I never played postal 2 , nor have any interest in it after the little footage I saw of it a while back.
avatar
lepke1979: I remember playing the demo for Postal 2 for maybe 30 minutes and then uninstalling it. Not sure why I found that game boring and could then proceed to play Spear of Destiny, Doom or Duke Nukem for many months.

The reviews here seem positive though, so I guess people liked Postal 2. But don't care enough to go back and give it a second chance.

Now why would I find Hatred gameplay boring while I would probably find Binding of Issac more enjoyable (have only seen gameplay videos of it, haven't actually played it)? Don't know. Sure, the games are different, but the game mechanics are similar enough.

As for Total Biscuits review. Mostly confirmed what I thought. And while it may be unfair since he could have been playing an earlier build, was interesting he found it buggy and whatnot. Perhaps that could have played into GoGs reason for not selling Hatred.
Well with Binding of Isaac, while the core gameplay is twin stick shooter what makes it a more replayable game and less boring and repetitive then something like Hatred is

1. it's short if you win the run it will take you around 30 minutes to a hour tops and that is basement to dark room/chest or the locked door which is 7 levels and most levels take a few minutes to clear.

2. It's randomized, so while every level is the pretty much the same as in you start in the basement/cellar and end either in the dark room or chest or locked room, but they have a different layout each time, what items you can find are always different, even levels have alternate and harder versions so one run you may get the basement the next you may get the cellar which is harder and have different enemies and bosses. Plus your first time play there are tons of items that you have to unlock, the alternate floors have to be unlocked, more bosses are unlockable, in short there are tons of stuff you unlock as you play. Giving you many reasons to come back and play again and again.

Hatred on the other hand just seems to be like Postal 1, start a level and kill X amount of people and next level kill X amount of people, lather rinse and repeat and with not much to give you a incentive to keep playing outside of go and kill more people till you finish the game.

I also think you're a great person and those who most admire in the community. you are so right. but I was very upset that a video game is prohibited without apparent reason (i mentioned i'm not interested on the game) but I feel sorry for the guys of hatred.

in gemany frinds of mine are sufering for this kind of censurship. one of them said me these are the same arguments use the censors (morality, violence, nazi simbolism). mexico depends of American game distribution. if there is censoreship in usa both will sufer.

but guys you have all reason, GOG has the right to reject and community, I did see clearly now. but I hope gog tell us a reason at least... of course if they want.

long time ago I've read here in the comunity the indie game BRAID was banned here but noone knows why, as far I know the quality of the game is superv, and its has it's DRM-FREE version, on humble and it's official website and that's why I'm a little scared with GOG desisions
