sharp299: I have some questions:

- why ban the game?,
- where is our rights, where is our freedom to buy and sell everiting we want?, -
-this game is really harm anyone on the real life(the game is M for mature(adults not for kids))?,
- why the people are so sillly to compare kill polygons, to real tragedies?

for exemple why if GOG one day the say: "well we can't sell Guilty Gear serie because there is a travesti on it (bridget)" or we can't sell diablo saga because the amazone, the barbarian and the assasin are scantily clad, oh the sucubus, oh the inmorality!.

- where is the line then?

"I not like hatred", but I had seen much more violence on mortal kombat (this game is really disgusting for me) but I will never buy it too, because is my right like the customers of MK or Hatred have the right to buy it if they want.

then why not ban the news on tv, the movies (I had seen a lot of exemples of violence on it), why you not ban the stupid human nature, why you not ban the first enmendement of your contry (every contry has one, the mine has one)!

many of my friends in germany, are waching this polemic and the only they can do a national faceplam... because they had suffer the censoreship in their flesh, I'm 100% sure they would give anything for stop their politician decide what they can see and what they can't. I'm sure because I know many of these criminals (sarcasm), they play immoral games like Doom(It can't be posible!!), Wolfenstein(oh god!!), or Call of duty 1, 2 or world at war (inmorals)!!.

if this game is not published then do not complain when your first amendment (of your contry whatever is called) is crushed, you give the right to your politicians, you publisher, your store, the right to decided for others...

you are decided for the hatred customers then hatred customers will decide for you one day.
Implying the game was banned, there is a difference between banning and refusal to sell. Since GOG refuses to sell games all the time for many reasons and in some cases see: Cat Lady, Xenonauts, Avernum: Escape from the pit. Stores don't usually "ban" stuff, they can be forced not to carry something due to a existing ban for example if a certain style of hunting rifle is considered illegal and is banned from sale in a country or state then those stores in that state or country can't sell it because it's banned. But typically if a store refuses to carry something it's not a ban, it's just a decision to not sell something since you can still get it elsewhere.

Also with that in mind, who said that GOG refused to sell the game based on it's premise. I personally doubt it's that given that we have MK, Postal, Cat Lady, ect. which are just as "bad" and in the case of Postal 1 the exact same thing or far worse. It's more likely it was passed on because it's a 20 dollar game that is while pretty nice looking for a indy game from a small team is horribly bland and repetitive for it's asking price.

Here is the game:
Go kill X people -> kill X people move on to next level Kill X people, lather rinse repeat with nothing to break up game play it's really repeative and yes there are other games that did or do that Doom but Doom for example is kill enemies but it's also explore the level and find the exit, in order to find the exit you have to find keys so there is something to break up the gameplay and also Doom is what 15 or so years old now and is sold for 5 to 6 dollars now? This is a game from 2015 and asking 20 dollars for a pretty looking, bland generic game.

So again it's more likely, not saying it is the case since we don't know as GOG isn't saying the why and the dev only gives a vauge response of "they said it was good but they can't sell it"

But the it's not worth the asking price is a more logical reason for them passing on the game then the controversial content since we have a game that is the exact same thing Postal and others that are far worse in gruesome content and not to mention Postal 1 only costs 6 dollars.

jefequeso: I don't like Postal 2. In fact, I think it's a rubbish game. But I do have to admit that it worked on a certain level, and I think that's because it at least had a lot of self-awareness. As I said before, Hatred seems to lack any sort of self-awareness. It's just unironically emo. And to me, that makes it really unappealing.

Potzato: I never played postal 2 , nor have any interest in it after the little footage I saw of it a while back.
I remember playing the demo for Postal 2 for maybe 30 minutes and then uninstalling it. Not sure why I found that game boring and could then proceed to play Spear of Destiny, Doom or Duke Nukem for many months.

The reviews here seem positive though, so I guess people liked Postal 2. But don't care enough to go back and give it a second chance.

Now why would I find Hatred gameplay boring while I would probably find Binding of Issac more enjoyable (have only seen gameplay videos of it, haven't actually played it)? Don't know. Sure, the games are different, but the game mechanics are similar enough.

As for Total Biscuits review. Mostly confirmed what I thought. And while it may be unfair since he could have been playing an earlier build, was interesting he found it buggy and whatnot. Perhaps that could have played into GoGs reason for not selling Hatred.

I give up.

I went into a Burger King the other day and they wouldn't sell me a Big Mac. Where are my rights!?

I'm just going to repost this because it's one of my favorite scenes from the movie:

Dennis: Come and see the violence inherent in the system. Help! Help! I'm being repressed!

King Arthur: Bloody peasant!

Dennis: Oh, what a giveaway! Did you hear that? Did you hear that, eh? That's what I'm on about! Did you see him repressing me? You saw him, didn't you?

Fesin: I honestly don't understand it. how are they making money?
avatar
catpower1980: Their website is just the tip of the iceberg. Most of their money comes from contract works from game companies to adapt older games on modern devices (phones and tablets mainly). Last Express, Raiden, R-Type, Metal Slug, Another World, etc. Even one of my small local company did the mobile port of Afterburner Climax for Sega
https://youtu.be/AheFaYSDnJE

EDIT: and to give some more objective facts, I dug out their 2013 financial reports so the key numbers:
Gross revenue: 864.900 €
Profits: 57.500 €
Equivalent of full-time employees : 11
wow. that's quite bad. they can earn A LOT MORE money if they all quit now, take a train to england and clean toilets. nothing wrong with cleaning toilets, if you get a fair unionised rate for it.

Well in fairness pretty much everything is legal in Mexico. This is a country who's Constitution is written in pencil.
*reads a bit the thread*
Well, I guess that.. Hatred begets hatred.

Hum hum, this is the company data so the profits are meant for the company only (unless the founders are dumb to put everything in their pockets). The salary of employees is included in the business expenses.and you can surely bet it's higher than low-qualified labor work.

I was just wondering how GTA Online would look with a black&white filter and someone got the idea for me so here's a special GTA Online trailer copying the Hatred one:

Another one without filter on the cam:

I really should try the video editor of GTA one day :)

Thought slavery was illegal in Mexico. Then again, the cartels are basically in charge, so maybe they legalized it?

And doesn't the above apply to GOG not selling it if they so choose?
