Dalswyn: I wouldn't be so sure. DotEmu still occasionally pulls out nice tricks. After all, they've been in business since 2007.
avatar
Fesin: I honestly don't understand it. how are they making money? Who buys games there? Their forums are completely deserted, they barely release new games, and the don't offer anything particularly interesting you couldn't get somewhere else.
A few years ago they had some nice stuff: VtM. Bloodlines (pulled, never been on GOG.com), Alien vs. Predator (on GOG.com, with Galaxy support), German version of the Gothic series (on GOG.com now, with more extras), the Sega games (all pulled now).

I just can't imagine that they get a lot of sales each month. If any.
Personally I have downloaded every game I bought there, because I think they could close shop any moment.
Dot Emus main income is not from the store, but from publishing games and porting classics to for example Android and iOS.

Even here on gOg the there are several games published by DotEmu -http://www.gog.com/games##devpub=dotemu

johnnygoging: you do realize that this developer is polish and has political connections? these things I was unaware of until finding out about it in one of these threads.

Tracido: Shocking, I know. Who doesn't have political connections again?

Who doesn't have an agenda?

Who doesn't handpick words to make a case instead of ever looking at the whole picture?
So, are you admitting that you have an agenda and don't look at the whole picture? :P

They released the Sudden Strike series a couple of months ago, which is an exclusivity. Alas, they're not Windows 8 compatible.

So why do they still bother with their own store?

every little helps. They may not have many sales in the store, but for each they get 100% cut

I was asking, because it would be nice to know that's not the only world I've seen much of. :P

In this case, I'm waiting until the devs pop on to ask if they will allow a statement, I think that's the best way to handle it.

Those games were released there close to a year ago. Also, they aren't exclusive. The Sudden Strike series can also be bought on and the [url=https://www.zoom-platform.com/#home]Zoom Platform

Even for games that they don't own? Doubtful.

Wow, nearly 60 pages of this. Well this is...depressing.

I just wish that nowadays not everything was this massive battle for the fate of the world, where you either agree with everything we say or you are literally the devil.

Oh come on, you're only saying that because you're wrong and it bothers you that you are going to hell because of it. :D

All of us can go together, sounds fair to me.
Please sell Hatred guys, it's just a game after all.

My view. It's a nasty idea I've no wish to play, though equally from what I know of it I'd not object to it appearing on GOG so long as it's got enough quality as a game to justify itself with and is not just an empty mess that's coasting along on it's own controversy.

The extreme emotive manipulation, cries of censorship and demands from some people who've yet to play it but already seem to think it wonderful and are only assuming the reason why GOG isn't selling it... Let's just say, all that does nothing to convince me that it's not simply the latter being covered up by marketing shenanigans.

But given you've said a number of times now that you speak to the developers, if that reply was you hinting that it has any of the rumoured connections or, as you put it there, agenda behind it then it can fuck right off. Irrespective of anything, no site should consider hosting that kind of hateful agenda hidden in a pretence of a game. If, and I stress if, that was the case it would rightly deserve no mainstream support or marketing, and rejecting would absolutely be the right answer.

Ah, yes, the agenda... (wink wink)
