I was remembering a really good sewer level, but when trying to remember the game, realized it was a tabletop D&D game...go figure...
When I read the thread's title I immediately thought engineering instead of computer game and told myself "What an odd question.".

I can only recall Duke Nukem and Fallout 3 sewers but neither weren't particularly good or bad.
Well... what about Area 02 in Bionic Commando for and [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sh4dGqbeaRM]Rearmed?

Anyway... a Sewer Level I would never like to come across is this one in Hellnight: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Am-ygQON6p0

This is particularly true in shooters. Almost every shooter has its sewer level.

I find it rather boring.
I was trying to remember exactly that level :)

Hopefully one day we'll see that here on GOG..
cs_militia has been one of my all time favorites on Counter-Strike :)
Last Ninja 2, Level 3
UnEpic has a good sewer area although the slugs you collect when wading through the water are a bit annoying, they enable a funny quest though.
A few examples of good sewers I somehow managed to forget:

- Remember Me (really dark and atmospheric, then a train crash to keep things interesting)

- KOTOR (you go through the sewers on Taris early in the game, so you can steamroll enemies and there's some interesting stuff to find)

- Chrono Trigger (fake save points and cans and cats that you have to avoid to keep from alerting enemies, which is hilariously weird)

- Venetica (for some reason, I've always found the sewers in this game weirdly pretty)

- Earthbound (because there's no part of Earthbound that isn't awesome)

Space Quest 4 had a pretty good sewer level, in that it was short and had good Roland music.

Hatred.

That is, if the idea is to compare sewer levels to the quality of the rest of the game(s). The sewer level in that game definitely wasn't the deciding factor why that game was shite.

huN73R: The Witcher, You meet Brogfried there. Plus I really liked how going in alone or going together changes things in future.
The Witcher seconded. Especially the Zeugl...

Ugh, with that damn mutated crocodile...

Apdiya had a cool sewer world (complete with tin soldier...)
Star Wars: Shadow of the Empire has a particularly famous sewer level.
Vampire - The Masquerade: Bloodlines
Especcially the Nosferatu camp :)
Rage has nice sewers missions : )
