I'm a fan of the Souls series and I've been thinking of buying this one, since I haven't even touched my PS4 since P.T. came out. My big fear is the performance. I remember the loading times used to be crazy long. Can annyone who plays this tell me if it has been patched out? How about fps? Does it get really low or does it stay at 30?
Loadings are faster, can't say exactly but let's say that it was 50s before and now is something like 30s;
Coop is now easier to find matches;
Framerate was slightly improved in some areas but it still has some problems.

I'd say that it's better than when it was release but don't expect it to be a smoth experience, still playable though.
No, It's still not on PC

If you really enjoy the Souls series and already own a PS4, then it's a no-brainer -- just get the game.

I'm afraid we'll have to wait for that until about... never. :(

I dunno man, I heard tales from console peasants of what blighttown used to be like.

1 and 2 work perfectly?

I don't know how many years it's been by now, but every single time I read the game title I first mistake it for this.

I love that game! Blasting aliens to smithereens with a shotgun have never been as fun! :D
Why on earth did you buy a PS4 when your priority is framerates and loading times ?

To answer your question, the loading times are still quite long compared to your average PC game.

The fps is the same as before.

Seriously, Dark Souls 1 works fine on the PC? You seriously have lost it this time. Far and away the worst port ever to disgrace my system. Locked aspects, poor graphics in general, actually made me feel sick they were so bad (and not in a gruesome way), camera spinning widely mainly in menu which took half an hour to find. No story, auto aim, checkpoint save etc. Maybe it is ok on console, but the PC port is dreadful, whoever made it should not be allowed anywhere near a computer. Even with 30 mods including dsfix it was still awful.

Yes, worked really nice, played half of it with M/KB and half of it with an XO controller.

I had no significant issues with it either, and I've played both the console and PC version. It ran as well as can be expected of a console port made by developers who have never developed for PC before, apart from 2009's Ninja Blade. Somewhere along the line you need to have realistic expectations given all the facts.

The fact that the game was even released on PC despite it never being the intention, after a huge petition, you'd expect people to be more grateful and forgiving. FromSoft had no obligation whatsoever towards PC gamers, absolutely none. They were, and still are, predominantly a console developer, as Bloodborne has showed us.

The review scores, both by media and by users, for Dark Souls on PC show that most PC gamers are in fact very forgiving of any issues they encountered in the game, as the scores are overwhelmingly positive.

I have no knowledge of any of that, I have zero interest in "review scores" or "company hardships" or "online petitions". All I know is that I tried to play the game twice, once with mods, once without. In both instances I found the game to be one of, if not the worst game I have ever played. One day I might play it on console, but for me the PC version doesn't exist. And yes, I can't see how there is so much support for it?

Dark Souls doesn't have checkpoints saves.
