They should get Michael Stackpole involved
A BattleTech turn-based tactics game? Ohh, I'm gonna back this so hard.

Crosmando: They should get Michael Stackpole involved
Good call.

It'd be pretty sweet if they could, some of the best Battletech novels I read came from him.
Battletech!! We need need more battletech strategy/tactics titles. I recently finished Mech Commander Gold, and it was delicious
After their original kickstarter Harebrained got on my "no backing" list of sorts. I'll still buy their games when they release them on GOG and on sale, but I no longer give them money before actual launch.

I will most likely buy this when it gets here as it has the magic words "turn based".
The main reason I won't back this is because they most likely won't be using the BattleTech tabletop rules, it'll be another cruddy mmo-y homebrew ruleset just like with Shadowrun Returns. I mean you have the license for this tabletop game, yet you only use the setting, how incredibly dumb is that?

Briareos262: Very much looking forward to this, especially if its anything like the old Battletech Crest Hawks Inception. I played that game alot back in the day and even completed it a couple times. Turn based gameplay plus some storyline with updated graphics sounds awesome. Very happy news, I will gladly back this new project as I did with their previous kickstarters ^_^
I agree with this completely. I loved Crescent Hawks Inception and played it through a couple of times. That game got me into all other things Battletech (like the books). I've been very happy with their previous Kickstarter games and can't wait for this one.
I'm cautiously hyped and will strongly consider backing this, as turnbased + mechs sounds like a recipe for awesome to me!

Kristian: Why is that? Is anyone claiming to own the very concept of a "mech"?
Pretty much. Any mech that looks similar to another is lawsuit fodder. Which means those compartmentalised designs, like those in Mechwarrior and Battletech are fair game.

It seems to me that most people with mech IP spend more time trying to make money from lawsuits than trying to make mech games themselves.
Don't know the Battletech brand/franchise but turn based mech games is always welcome, especially when i'll never get a real Front Mission sequel these days.
Hopefully this gets to GOG.

ShadowWulfe: Hopefully this gets to GOG.
Everything else they've put out has come here, so it's a pretty safe bet.
Just dropped by to update that kickstarter start date has been set and website has minor update (day-counter, updates subscribe and some wallpapers).
