I have come across this game called Hard Ancient Life on Youtube, and I haven't seen any existing topics about it on the forums. It is a city builder that will span the whole Ancient Egyptian history. There is a trailer available (with alpha footage):

According to the website, it will focus on city planning and trade.

The game is expected to be released in Q4 2018. For the time being only a Steam release is confirmed, but the developers are Polish so maybe they will be more open to a DRM-free release on GOG.
The title of the game is not very appealing. Sounds like you'd be tired all day everyday, probably sore and sunburned to hell. Also no toilets.
That looks close to Children of the Nile but genuinely well made graphics. Looking forward to it.

The title is a bit weird. My guess is that they wanted to avoid any specific references to Egypt so they would be able to keep the title in potential sequels with new settings.
Always up for a city builder!
Thanks for the heads up, definitely going to be keeping my eye on this.
Looks like Children of the Nile with Grand Ages Rome graphics.

I wouldn't mind that. Just please, real representative AI walking around please like Children of the Nile. So tired of builders with just ridiculous speed movement between buildings or not actually being a resident of any building, just a generic moving resident that enters random buildings.

In COTN I loved watching my people trying to get from home to work and back. They actually went out and tried to cover their needs by buying stuff and you could actually see what problems they had by following them. Like, perhaps they just didn't have enough time in the day left to make it all the way to a good they needed.

Edit: Dev name doesn't sound particularly promising :p "Small Abandoned Pixel Studio"

Me too. It gave the game a feel of life in it.
