My taxes were done back in February. They're always a mess because of the trusts, the money my third ex fiancee ran off with which IRS swears I still have access to, the medical bills, etc.

How about yours? Get yours filed yet?

And remember folks. Office Depot will shred up to 5 pounds of those receipts you need to hide today for free. :)

... my third ex fiancée?
Shred my ex for free? Sounds good.

...he clearly doesn't stay home to play cRPGs on weekends. XD
Went over and signed stuff Saturday. Had to call my accounting folks because I'm out of town this week and wouldn't be around Monday or Tuesday to sign paperwork. Overpaid federal, which we just roll into my quarterlies. State we owed a little - not enough to fret over.

Best news is that it settles the question of how much we'd be shelling out, so we are able to finalize a couple big projects around here since we now know what the budget looks like.

Reminds me, gotta email a contractor. Er two contractors.
Owed $4000 this year. Filed and paid last month. Render unto Caesar...
Filed mine two weeks ago and got my return a few days after.

Strange, I haven't received it yet. ;)

Let me guess, you've been waiting for over a year to use that joke, right? :-)

You overestimate my long-term planning!

Frankly, we don't use that expression to refer to taxes. I guess I only knew what you were talking about because of TV.
Ha! Pay the man! I wish in this day all my debtors paid me. I would pass from broken to dirty rich in a few hours. those damn f******!
I don't pay taxes, I don't earn enough.

I was trying to be a bit humorous with my "render unto Caesar" bit. In case you were wondering, that is from the Bible. Specifically, Matthew 22:19-22.

I know where it came from (well, not as thorough as you!) but we use a different translation (I think) and it has a slightly different meaning.

By the way, this year there weren't any ides of March jokes. :(

I had a doctor's appt. for the 15th of March this year and you wouldn't believe (or probably you would believe) how many people had no idea what I was talking about when I mentioned the Ides of March.

I assume your bible is in Spanish? It would be interesting to compare the things that are different in translation and meaning between all the different languages.
My accountant handles my taxes and she filed them about a month ago. I think I owed a few thousand here and there. The nice thing is, this year my federal rate will be 4% to 8% less depending on how I allocate my investments. Life is good.
