Happy Holidays from the GOG.com team!
The holiday season is here. The world, in all its little shopping frenzies and chaotic reunions, seems to slow down just a little. It slows to taste the crisp winter air, to be childishly entranced by all the lights and colors.

As for us, we're going to celebrate with a little something special.
With a new free game in our catalog: Bio Menace, something of a mix between the smooth and joyous gameplay of Commander Keen, and the alien weirdness of the original Duke Nukem platformers. The spacey 2D shooter by 3D Realms is now part of our selection of free, truly worth playing, classics.

With a Happy Holiday Sale from GOG.com & Bethesda:
Have a holly, jolly discount. It's the best time of the year. We don't know if there will be snow, but have a cup of deal. It's up to 75% off the entire Bethesda catalog on GOG.com - including the three and only classic Fallout games, as well as some of the best shooters in history: the retro Wolfenstein 3D & Return to Castle duo, The Ultimate DOOM, DOOM II & Final DOOM alongside the Quake series (from the singleplayer gory of Quake + Quake II, through the timeless mutliplayer mayhem of Quake III). Finally, there's the chance to explore the history of The Elder Scrolls with classics like Morrowind, Battlespire, and Redguard.

As always, any purchase from the Bethesda catalog on GOG.com comes with a free copy of The Elder Scrolls: Arena and The Elder Scrolls Chapter II: Daggerfall!

Looking for last-minute gifts? There ya' go.
The sale will last until December 29, 4:59 AM GMT.

Have a happy holiday season!

kneekoo: Thanks for the freebie, and for the offer. I will pass these again, not being Linux-compatible. Maybe in the future.

Merry Christmas!
Everything should run fine on Linux with DOSBox & WINE or even better with some OpenSource-Engines :)
You just don't get a Linux-Installer.

GenEiNoKenshi: Has Quake II Quad Damage been removed from GoG?

plan99: Arggghh! What does this mean? Email says they're on sale, but not... yet, anyway. You know something Mr. Maybe and I've been waiting a while for Manhattan Project. The other Duke's have been on sale from time to time, but not Manhattan, at least that I remember. Now it "may be", lol, leaving on the 29th and I want that sale price.

Maybe it's going up in price when it changes hands, maybe it'll be on sale right after it changes hands, maybe the sale email was early instead of late this time <chuckles>, maybe, maybe, maybe... You've got the right tag. ;)
Hm...:)
Damn. I still can't get the two Wolfenstein games, just because I am German. :-(

I'm still mad about this regional blocking.
First of all: Thank you very much GoG for being awesome. Thanks for another freebie, and thanks for making my nostalgic gaming-feelings lift up high! But since I am from germany, i am not able to apply for copies of quake 2 and 3 and the wolfenstein classics. Is it possible to gift these games, and if so - can I activate them on my account?

Greets and merry X-Mas to all you GoGers and happy customers :)

Hm, why don't you ask somebody who doesn't live in Germany to buy it for you? As much as I understand other people can gift it to you. You just can't buy it yourself.
dagnabbit, quit tempting me gog! heh heh

what a nice surprise with the freebie too, thank you !
Amother free game.
Thank you GOG.

So after buying game I will get for free Arena and Daggerfall that are available for free on main Elder Scrolls page? Great deal, really.

But maybe some people want to have them on GOG library.

Basically, all of the Bethesda games, except for Arx Fatalis, will add Arena and Daggerfall to your library if you didn't already have them after you purchase the aforementioned Bethesda game :)

I think Sacr3dus is trying to ask if there is any difference between free and GoG version.
Well, Arena comes with voice acted cut-scenes, not sure how about Daggerfall..
And yes, some of us like to keep our digital games in one place.
Wait, is Arx Fatalis owned by Bethesda?
sorry for clicking reply. I do that sometimes. it's more present than the new post button. at least for me.

nobody knows if there's any problems with this new gog version with morrowind mods?

I'm specifically looking at skywind here but the others as well. >> nevermind. seems I had skywind backwards.

park_84: Wait, is Arx Fatalis owned by Bethesda?
dunno. bethesda bought the studio but nordic bought the publisher. so who the hell knows owns what. only gog knows. if bethesda could have pulled it down then they probably would have already. so probably nordic owns it. but then, why didn't nordic yank it down with the rest of their stuff when they did that? perhaps it's a bit murky after the takeovers. too many footholds for lawyers on the mountain that is that game's legals.

gog lists arkane as the publisher. perhaps jowood didn't get lock in all the rights or returned some or the studio bought them back or something. so it's likely until the contract they have with arkane runs out.
