Hey there - bought Hammers of Fate here for some nice retro gaming. Played the Haven mission right to the end, having a blast, all was perfect. BUT at the end of the final Haven mission, you need to build a boat in the port city. Fine, built it in the city - but no shipyard shows up to go to actually build the boat. It says shipyard built, but it just ins't there. Of course this is a major issue because one can not finish the level or go on in the game without the stupid boat.
- Checked online for solutions - none.
- Replayed the level - same glitch
- Deleted and re-installed the game (with old save file - too much time to play all the way back there again!) - still hooped.





Help? Am I really going to have to delete this and never get to finish it?

I know this can't help but I think from memory I had a slight problem with that also.I did get through but for the love of God I don't remember what I did,sorry.

Though I don't recall any problems like this when I played through (a long time ago), there were some campaign glitches reported on a couple of "Heroes" sites.

Watch from 1.13.0 (1 hour 13 mins). That, I think is where you are. It shows what should happen so you can check back if you have done something different.

2nd Edit: I think I have it. You are probably looking for a shipyard on the main map outside the town to click on. H5 won't show this. It may not even show a shipyard in the main town screen. However, once the shipyard has been built, the circular button menu to the left (marketplace, Blacksmith, Hire Hero etc) now has a build ship button. Use that and a ship appears on the main map. This is shown at 1.13.19 in the above video.

If that's it then it's simply a case of becoming familiar with H5 interface (which is what campaigns are for).

Do you have the "Summon Boat" spell (or is there even one in the game)? Just thinking of creative solutions to get around the glitch.

Bonzer for the win! I feel pretty silly. The boat purchase is different than other HOMM games just like bonzer said. There is a purchase icon on the training circle inside the town. So how do I delete this post or is it a permanent monument to my stupidity?

No need to delete. It is a permanent monument to how H3 (and H2, H4, H5) can pull you in to persevere, and not want to give up because the game(s) are so good.

I have played 2 - 5 for many years and enjoyed them all.

Once you are past the campaign stages, google "maps4heroes". Plenty of one off scearios there and quite a few that are well made.

I don't know for certain but this could of been my ahh,very very very small mishap.
