tinyE: "alone and in the dark"

Pretty much describes my sex life.
You can always get a blow up doll and name her Chastity to keep you company. ;)
try hugo: house of horrors , the FPS.
If you`re up to the challenge, Amnesia The Dark Descent has loads of mod/stories.

The Four Horsemen is a great one to get started.

Also, grab SOMA. That has story/mods too, although there won`t be many out yet as the game is still shiny & spanking brand new.

Placing bets your screen will attract all the bugs though ;)

drealmer7: Add some spice to that sex-life, try it with the lights on sometimes!
Hehe and probably some strippers to go along with that?

Thanks for the recommendation! Haven't tried any Amnesia mods, but I think I'll check this one out. Know any other really good ones?

Well, Outlast is a pretty fucked up game. I already had a few *jump back in my chair and audibly shout "Whooooo"* moments. I don't think I've ever done that before, game (for sure) OR movie.

I need a mental break.

KasperHviid: Okay, time to scare the living shit outa myself. (which comes easy, me being total chickenshit)

Tonight, I'll take my laptop out in my garden and plays some horror titles. Feeling the cold wind against your face makes the horror a bit more real than when its played inside the safety of your home. Highly recommended.

I just bought Nosferatu: Wrath of Malachi. I'm also installing Lone Survivor, Costume Quest, Last Door, Deadly Premonition and Penumbra: Overture. Let's see how many minutes I last ...

Happy Halloween!
You know, I find that when the weather outside is the same that the one in the game I get immersed a lot more in the game, thus, I have made a habit of playing day levels during daytime and night levels during night time, I´ve played games during lightning storms while it was also raining in the game and somehow it gives it a whole new perspective................................and of course scary games, during the night and no lights on, usually when everyone else sleeps, the same way I played "Homeworld" since playing a space game during day time just gets me out of the experience.

Outlast as a horror game is way overrated. Nothing but scripted horror scares that are more or less predictable. The Last Door is an excellent choice in terms of atmosphere. Not so many jump scares (though there are a few of those), but you constantly have this eerie, on-edge feeling, amplified by the low-detail pixellated graphics.
I'm getting the urge to re-play Eternal Darkness
Just remembering to NOT look in the bath
One of the scariest thing that I ever played is Shalebridge Cradle in Thief: Deadly Shadows. Highly recommanded :)

+1. Only played it myself a few months back and it definitely had that tiny bit of creepiness while playing it...
Nice picks, Kasper. I'll be playing some Penumbra too. I started it last Halloween but didn't finish it.
Happy spooky Halloween everyone!
