For me, my favorite part of Halloween is dressing up in costume and going out.
Probably the same thing as every year - it begins with...

A two day marathon preceeding Halloween answering the slew of text messages, tweets etc with "No! I am not coming out for Halloween / coming to your party - I am skint and a hermit - LEAVE ME BE, HUMAN!"

Followed by...

A marathon on Haloween day of answering the slew of text messages, tweets etc with "YES I'M FUKCING SURE!"

Followed by...

A marathon of trying to decide what to do with myself - watch films, paint, listen to the entirety of Wormwood...

Followed by...

Rolling into bed at 6am still having done bugger all.

bykowsky: Horror movies marathon sounds good since I don't plan to throw a party this year. Thanks for idea, l0rdtr3k! ;) Probably I should check that "Twilight Zone" thing from 1959! I know the name from horror movies and cartoons but never actualy watched it.

For marathon I will stick with classic horror and b-movies, probably. Halloween is a good time for catching up and I just can't resist watching crappy gore movies.

EDIT: Any horror movies recommendations?
Was just thinking about The Fog. The original, not the remake.

For me, my favorite part of Halloween is dressing up in costume and staying home... to scare the literal crap out of people when they come for candy. IT IS SO GLORIOUS.

Woah! It's sad we don't have Halloween like this because I would definitely do this!

Pretty much every one of Carpenter's horrors is great (except for Ghosts of Mars, I still can't believe Carpenter made that crap). In the Mouth of Madness is simply superb.
We can also do the Midnight Game or try to summon Bloody Mary.

Naw, man, don't do that. She had a pretty miserable life. You don't want to dredge all that up.

It's not very Carpenter, seeing how I usually associate the adjective "good" and it's various stronger synonyms with his other movies, and Ghosts of Mars was fucking terrible. It's boring, builds no tention or atmosphere, it looks like shit and the acting is plain bad all around. Even the music is just bland and forgetable, unlike most of his other movies.

Polish edit is way off then - sounds nothing like the film I have on dvd. O_______________o

Apparently you have some very rare Director's (after he regained his senses and remade the whole movie) Cut. Might be valuable.

Well, I do think it is very Carpenter. In fact, when I finished it, my exact thoughts were "Looks like a cheap mix up of most of the guy's movies".
