After countless attempts to get gog galaxy working, weeks of waiting for a solution from support center - nothing works.

So i have a question, is there a way to download Gwent off some other site? maybe using torrent client or smth like that?
Would greatly appreciate an answer.

Haha.Windows store has it for sale.

But that's about it. You could download it from a site, sure, but it requires Galaxy to run the GOG version and there is no real "singleplayer" experience.

What's the matter, don't like the always online client program driven games? Should have brought on a drm free store, oh wait...

Gwent is a MP online focused game (that is in beta), therefor it needs Galaxy. Gwent Thronebreaker is the single player portion which is not released yet. The only other way to play it on PC currently is via the Windows 10 Store.

If you tell us what issues you are having with Galaxy maybe one of us can help you... but please ingore the non helpful people (like above).
The only reason i wanted to download separately from GOG was to run it without GOG, since the error doesn't let me even launch it properly.

As for the issue i am having: every time i try to launch GOG i get * failed to load game database* error. The usual solutions don't help since there is no *storage* folder, i even tried registry cleaning at some point - it didn't help. Support center person answers every now and then with usual uninstall advice, or smth like that, no real help from those people so far. I just want to play Gwent, that's all ...

P.S. Client program driven games are ok with me as long as they run properly. Steam, Origin, Battle.net run pretty well. This GOG beast refuses to do so...

Hmmm the storage folder is in the ProgramData folder which is a hidden folder in Windows by default. Just to confirm you are turning on hidden folders and looking in ProgramData?

Are you running Galaxy on an internal or external hard-drive?
Yeap, i see hidden folders and there is no storage folder inside it. Just bunch of others like *autoupdate*, *changelogs* and so on.

Internal.

Where do you have Galaxy installed to? How have you installed Galaxy via installer on the offical Galaxy page or via the Gwent installer?

What do you have running in the background and are you using anything like cryptoprevent?
Galaxy installed on other volume D, while Program Data rests on volume C.

no cryptoprevent, nod32 when it comes to anti-virus software.

Are you on Windows 7, 8 or 10?

Okay this is what I would try...

1. Uninstall Galaxy.
2. Delete the GOG.com folder in ProgramData (if it is still there).
3. Restart PC.
4. Run CCleaner to fix registry (or whatever you perfer).
5. Disable anti-virus
6. Download the latest Galaxy installer, do not use the Gwent bundled installer.
7. Go to task manger, close anything running in the background that isn't a standard Windows process.
8. Run as admin and re-install Galaxy (important... as this could be a rights issue).
9. See if Galaxy works.

After all of that, if Galaxy works turn anti-virus back on, etc. Download Gwent.

Windows 7, i will try it today but i did all of it before, disabling anti-virus is the only thing different. But still thanks.

Wish support center was more helpful though...

Well I'm currently running it on Windows 10 without any major issues. I use to install Galaxy on D: too so that should be fine, but you could try installing Galaxy on C: and changing the settings (if you get it to work) to install all your games on D:.

Also do you have your Windows 7 fully up to date? You may want to even install optional updates.
Not really fully up to date on updates, will try that too.

Okay let me know if any of this works... also are you installing Galaxy in English? It's had some problems in the past when non-english versions were installed. Could be worth a shot to install it in English and see if that works. Again just a shot in the dark.
Yeap, in English. Thx for the tips.
