Our father is dead but my brother thinks he should lead our forces. Fool! I will crush his forces, kill him and then attack the capital of our sworn enemies
Is that a recent game?

Exhodos: Is that a recent game?
No

So I've destroyed our sworn enemy's planet. But the enemy himself got away - sort of at least. He killed himself before I could torture him. So unfair!

And what happened to your brother?

Duh! I tortured him!

Well, I liked House Ordos more, but Harkonnen had some fun things in their arsenal (and story) as well.

Emperor: Battle for Dune.

Good Old Game, this one. Definitely belongs here, but AFAIK nothing is ever that simple with all things Dune. :-(

Yeah, a great game indeed. Fortunatelly I have a retail version of every Dune game. Your turn
A drunkard, a chess pro player, a marine who got kicked out of military and some royalty - my, oh my, aren't we a dream team?
All right, our first mission will be following that distress signal. Looks like some miners have dug up something other than ore, something... weird. Something others want bad enough to kill for it.

Looks like an indie...

Who are the "others" who want the something bad enough to kill for it?

In the case of that particular mission, some ugly brutes who killed most of the mine personnel, but later in the game corporations and military join the chase.
A couple of seemingly random facts to speed things up a bit:
- people tend to panic if they are set ablaze or some creepy stuff crawls all over them. Who would've thought?
- a loose animal in a compartment it's not supposed to be may result in a shipwreck
- not a fact, but a word of warning: do not trust servants too much. I know, you kind of get used to all those folks silently going about their business cleaning, repairing and maintaining stuff, but my, what dark secret they hide!

This sounds like a fun game, I'd like to play it! Esp. since it sounds like an adventure game.

Weeeeeell, plot-wise it does describe adventures of that ex-marine, but gameplay-wise it's a more active type of game. With lots of shooting involved.
Hmmm, the hint seems to have proved to be too... elusive? illusive? Unclear.

We don't get to see the face of "royalty" (who is indeed of royal family, but actually not in line for the throne), the chess-player is responsible for deaths of thousands of people (and the fact that billions others survived), the marine sometimes speaks to holograms... what else? Oh, and that drunkard is a good tech specialist.
