zeogold: Sounds like something similar to Gobliins in terms of gameplay.
That was my first guess, but some clues don't fit like finding a new home, looks playing a huge role and narrator being a cool guide.

Maybe it's Magicka?

TanguyLOZ: We are all different, yet we share some common traits. We need a smart guide with logic to find a new home. We need to make several travels to save everyone from our prison. We must pass challenges that get trickier each time we encounter them. Our looks play a huge role in resolving problems. The narrator is a cool guy too !
Thomas Was Alone?

ZFR: Interesting. Is it a classic or indie?
It is a classic for me at least :P The game was released in the 90s on PC.

Ghorpm: Thomas Was Alone?
No luck.

The game consists of a series of puzzle games, and each has its own rule. It was designed for kids.
You can loose some of them in trying to solve the puzzles, but that gives you clue on why it happened for that puzzle.
The creatures you must save are blue (not Smurfs !). They have four traits : eyes, haircut, nose and footwear.

Congrats !
It was just a misunderstanding! But there was no time for words so I simply ran away. In the nick of time I got on a ship and sailed away. But it didn't solve my problems, far from it. Now I have to deal with quicksand and lava pools and...

ZFR: Prince of Persia 2.
Of course! :)
Could anyone help me deal with those new witches? Their spells can insta kill me and they reflect any spells I cast at them. I usually die before getting into mellee range and arrows either don't hit them or damage them too slowly. On the last level they appear in huge numbers. Way too huge.
[Just bringing the game back up.]
So here is a new hint:
The witches also have the teleport anywhere ability, which means they can instantly move anywhere during battle. But this actually works in your favour, because sometimes the AI has them teleport and attack in mellee, which immediately puts them within my mellee range and makes them easy to kill. Their strength is in spellcasting, so this is a bad move on AI's part. Happens very rarely, but when it does it can make things a bit easier for you.

A wild guess... Shadow Warrior?

No.
You (usually) control more than 1 person in this game.
