Densetsu: carrying a baby giant turtle on my shoulder.
I think I know this, is it a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game?
avatar
Green_Hilltop: No idea. :D I probably haven't heard of it.
avatar
Densetsu: Then you're lucky! Because Uncle Google has all the clues he needs since my last post.

You just need to ask him. :)
A wild guess as I haven't played the game: HyperRogue?
avatar
Green_Hilltop: But that's cheating. The point of the game is to guess and recognize a game you know. If you don't, someone will. At least that's how I play it. :)
I'm under impression that not all that many people play the forum games, and if nobody gives a guess in 2 or 3 days, it's likely that none will be given.

What an interesting logic Kleetus! Sadly, that's not it.

Yup, you guessed it right.

I recommend to at least give it a go for a few runs, because the concept is unlike anything I saw before and it works. Try to visit as many lands as you can and then decide if the game works for you, because each has its own rules and you are given new objectives as you progress. From my viewpoint this is the perfect roguelike.

It is available commercially, is very inexpensive and constantly developed, with new features and content added. I bought it on Steam a couple of weeks ago and every few days it gets an update, so it's clearly a labor of love. Older version is available for free and you can get it here if you decide to try it (less lands and without some of the features).

A good deal of us lurk.
Problem is, most of us lurkers are often clueless.

Densetsu:
Actually, it depends. When this game started out, over twenty people were playing it all the time, check out the first twenty pages of this thread or so. :D And then eventually it came to a slow stop and it's like this, that only ever so often someone posts. However It's more about the game and clues themselves - if it's a famous game or something relatively known, it can get guessed even after a month, however if it's something only few people have heard of, it drags on like this. And look, contrary to what you've said, someone's guessed it! Also if you expect that no one will guess that the game after x days, why continue with the hints and not just say what it was?

People don't always check the thread all the time, so sometimes you'd have people guessing, not getting it, and then after two weeks someone would come back, look at the hints and guess it correctly.
A new one:

OK, I have two monks among my followers so that should give me a good start. I'm somewhat worried that my enemy has quite a lot of farmers and I don't think I can compete with him on that field anymore. Maybe I should think about sending two knight to invade his city.

That makes sense.

Rather than revealing the name of the game, I prefer to pass out such final hint that most people would be able to google the game from it.

Besides expanding on the info, I use new hints to bring the thread back up after a few days without activity.

Is this a Heroes of Might and Magic game? That made me think of the Peasants unit the Kinght has, however I don't recall monks in the games I've played. :D

Nope, it's not HoMM :)
Quite a lot of farmers reminds me of the stacks of farmers in "King's Bounty". There's so many of them, I guess I'll go with "King's Bounty: The Legend"?

Nope. Other parts of my story should fit too. Even the numbers are somewhat important and suggest this particular game

Nope.

HINT: to make my situation better I can send a thief on a road. This particular road is perfect because he will do his thing and return to me immediately. Instant profit :D
Wait, I just now started paying attention.
This sounds almost exactly like the board game Carcassonne. Is this some sort of video game adaption or something...?
