Naszrador: [...] I'd guess Broken Sword 4. [...]
Broken Sword 4 has been released 2006. It's not old enough. :'-(

It seems that I was on the wrong track all the time. Hey, Puzzlemaster you've skipped one of my questions. *smiles*
I will wait for your reply to ZFR's question...
I hope that it is not a horror adventure. In that case I give up.

In that case, it looks like you've reached your rope's end.
It is. Time for you to give up, my poor friend.

ZFR: Tit tit tit tit tit tit tit
Could you describe the character a bit?

I missed my vocation. Clearly I should have been a poet.
The character's haughty with British pride.
His family's keys, they attempted to hide.

I'm not sure which question I missed,
Unless you refer to the temple gist.
In that case, I'll note this, if I may:
It's no temple indeed, but a castle, I say!

Naszrador: Assuming it's an adventure, a detective game like RupertMurdock thinks, released at least 10 years ago and on GOG, also not FPP, I'd guess Broken Sword 4. Pure guessing though, I don't really play much Point&Clicks anymore.
A pure guess here will not get you far.
I'm an aficionado - a point-and-click star.
You are incorrect, but do not cry.
As far as genre, you have not gone awry.
avatar
zeogold: It's not Dungeon Master, but please don't lose your head,
It's no RPG, but an adventure instead.
avatar
RupertMurdock: So in this case I guess that your clue is about a detective-mystery adventure game. I have played just a couple of them. Agatha Christie's and a few Sherlock Holmes games.
You've had an entry in the 'what game is it' thread. So I guess it might be another Sherlock Holmes game. Am I right?
And 'shank' could be a special kind of button...
My second question: Is this a first-person perspective game?
There're Agatha Christie's video games? Why I didn't figured out until now? Thanks! :)

Edit: a pleasure to read your poetry lines, zeogold

What? How on earth did you not know?!
Here is a link for me to show:

Ah, The Adventure Company, RIP.
How badly, how sadly, do we miss thee.
On that sad, mournful note, I should give a hint,
So for that, I'll mention this lovely fact:
My game was published by these beloved folks
Before Nordic Games signed that fateful contract.

Black mirror? Well I'm going to try black mirror right now in any case ^^ I have bought it in some HB deal but I've never try it. Wish me luck! good luck to you too guys, with the puzzle and the rhymes!
I do not know what game it may be
Poetry and rhymes also sicken me
But still, this puzzle, it ignited a spark
Could the game be Alone in the Dark?
I never played it so I cannot be sure
If keys are what one has need to procure

And by the time I finished this post… Uuuh...
.... The puzzle master added that it is a point and click adventure game (no rhyme here, I am done).

Uuuh…. Let me just guess... Is it a Call of Cthulu game?
Those are point and click... Right...?

EDIT: I am bad at italics, so I'll just leave it as it is
EDIT2: I am also sorry for the terrible rhymes
EDIT3: Call of Cthulhu is also based on a book, so just ignore me
EDIT4: nicohvc is probably right, Black Mirror would fit in perfectly

A winner is you! And now, it is time
For me to end this puzzle and ditch the rhyme.

The "dark, sacred place" is Black Mirror castle. Samuel Gordon is the stuck-up protagonist (he blatantly bosses around everybody and acts entitled to everything). It's old because it came out sometime in the 90s. The hardest clue, the "genius shank" is referring to the part where, after getting into William's study, you find a small knife hidden in a black rook from a chessboard. The person who ends up in "the drink" is Henry, who is found dead in the fountain outside. It's technically a horror game, although honestly, it's not that scary. Just kind of a foreboding environment.

Judging from the school theme and the reference to Dragon Ball Z, I'm guessing this is some sort of Japanese game, which I never play, so I'll let somebody else take a swing at it.
@zeogold:
Thanks for taking part in this game. I really like your rhymes and the hidden clues. I admire your talent. +1

@nicohvc
A shot in the dark - Celestian Tales - Old North
It is the first game that crossed my mind after reading your description.
Can this game be found on GOG?

it's not Celestian Tales but you are somehow close. Also, about your question, the tittle is available on GOG.

here is the DBZ reffered similarity (at 05:02 just a few seconds)
