samwisegamgees: Is it Baldurs Gate 2?
Doesn't look like it. No swimming there. And it definitely didn't have DLCs (ToB was an expansion, not really a DLC).

He did say add-on so I'm not sure if that means expansion or DLC but yeah, you are right about the swimming

toxicTom: I few more pointers. The place where I was stuck is in the add-on of the second game of a series available here on GOG.
'the add-on of the second game of a series available here on GOG'. This should narrow it down a lot but I'm stumped.

Two Worlds 2?

samwisegamgees: Two Worlds 2?
Yes. Two Worlds 2: Pirates of the Flying Fortress to be exact (the place where I got stuck). I'm not really sure how to differenciate expansions and DLC. In pre-DLC days this would have been a regular expansion sold in stores - I'm in about 20 hours into it and feel I'm nearing the end, but it may well take another couple of hours. The term DLC is (for me) somewhat poisoned by this horse armor thing Bethesda pulled off.

In Two Worlds heavy amor prevents you from using bows, in part one you even drown trying to swim in it. I thought this would be the most obvious hint, but if nobody here ever played these games...

The place where I got stuck where "the cartographer's archives". I still think it's a bug that I can't shoot the secret switch with the Oculus thing (flying eye with magic missile).

Anycase: Samwise's turn it is!

*bump*
Sorry everyone! Last night the reply was past my bedtime here in Thailand and I totally forgot about it today. Here goes then...

I'm at the beginning of the game in the castle. I have gathered up all the potions I need, used the crystal ball to search the nearby area and I'm ready open the drawbridge to access the outside world. Just need to ask Sherry to join my party first. Sherry can't carry much but she is very handy for fitting into tight spaces.

Just pushing this thread to the top, perhaps someone has an idea what game it could be, since I have none, I do not often play games where your party is more than one character :D

Ultima 6 is correct! Well done ZFR, your turn next....
OK, I'll use what I wrote in this post:

HELP! I'm stuck in that part of the game where you fight zombies in a hospital. I killed all of them but can't find the exit.

I'll do it slightly differently though. I WON'T give any additional hints myself. Instead, anyone can ask a question (or guess the game). Questions cannot be direct (what's the title of the game?), but can be anything like "What game genre is it?" "What does the hospital look like?" "When is the game taking place?"

Only rule is that if you ask a question, you cannot make a guess at the game (or ask another question), until someone else asked a question (or made a guess at the game) first.

I'm hoping this will get more people to participate. So instead of "I don't know what the game is so I'll just leave it alone" you can ask for additional info.

That sounds great, since I have no clue again :D I assume it is a shooter because of zombie killings and I don't play them, but I will ask a question: Is it a game that is available on gog?

No.
Resident Evil?
Is it a Western game?
