Green_Hilltop: Is the game a fantasy or an RPG?
It doesn't really have any RPG elements. Very simple dialogue and basic inventory (you either carry an item or you don') is all it has that makes it similar to RPG.
It is a fantasy world (trolls, witches, magic), with a tiny bit of parody type references to modern world (e.g. TV repair or London Bridge)
Additional hints:
_One of the bosses is a giant snake (each episode ends with a boss)
_Hero has 2 bars: one is HP, the other is mana/energy/power (forgot the exact name)
_The hero uses one weapon only, that he can use an infinite amount of times (i.e. doesn't run out of ammo or anything). He can also use inventory items which come with different powers, both offensive and defensive, but these cost mana/energy/power.
_If you die, you simply respawn at the beginning of an area. Infinite amount of lives (there is actually an in-game reason on why this is so)
_The game is full of tongue-in-cheek or parody humour.
Ask questions! It's not very famous, but it's also not an obscure game, I'm sure quite a few people on these boards played it.
ZFR: I could sure eat more apples...
toxicTom: I think this is the most important clue, right?
Yes! You eat apples in the game to regain HP.
