Ghorpm: OK, so I'm a guardian and my job sucks. I'm ordered to guard an entrance to a chamber where an important meeting is being held and blah, blah, blah, boring politics. But it didn't turned to be boring after all... assassins! I jumped into action killed a bad guy but then I got poisoned and paralyzed. I'm in a hospital now. It turns out that the poison is very nasty. It will mutate me, I'll get stronger because of it but eventually I may lose control over myself, so I should better find a cure.
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings?

Decatonkeil: The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings?
Geralt's job is monster slaying, not a guardian ;)

Is it a game from Resident Evil series?
What's the genre, and why is it a point and click adventure?

No, definitely not.

Action game and... err... I cannot really answer the second question but I would like to add that I was indeed thinking about p&c adventure but then I decided to change it because I knew you wouldn't like it! :D So now you are oblidged to participate!

I always participate.

Is the scene you described the beginning of the game? Do you actually play that part or is it a cutscene/intro?

It's the beginning but it's after intro. You do play most of it but for example getting poisoned is in a cutscene.

I love point and click games! :) Feel free to use them even more!
Could you describe the protagonist? What exactly is the "guardian" job? How good is he/she at handling weapons?

moonshineshadow: Yep you are right :D Seems like it was an easy one. So did you like it? I am just at the part I described and I think it is a neat little game.

Ghorpm: Ah, so my memory works fine despite my tiredness, good to know ;) I really enjoyed this game, it's not an epic scale RPG but it's very well done and enjoyable to play.

EDIT: new one:

Is this 'mutation' in any way related to Lycanthropy?

Human male. He lives in a post-apocalyptic caste based city and that's why he is a guardian (the game doesn't explain in details how this caste system works, it's definitely not trivial because father of protagonist is from a different caste). Basically he's responsible for the security of the city. He's pretty good with melee weapons but can fire guns too but they are very rare so better used with caution.

Nope, I've never played it.
Nobody? Seriously? The game is not here yet but it has +800 votes so I thought some folks would be able to recognize it, especially because I described the very beginning of the game.

Is it an Indie or a classic?
