duragon: Here I am, captain to a fine merchant ship, sailing the deep dark sea. Setting to ports for trade and various adventures, compiling reports for the Admiralty back home in order to get some extra coin and fuel for my ship. My fondest dream is to retire to a life of plenty, with precious heirlooms to gift to my scion, may he take after me and continue sailing.
Sunless Sea.

I don't have any early access but from what I've read it fits to your description.

Something fast then:

The main protagonist is a physicist just like me but:
- my experiments are not that dangerous
- my lab is better protected from nature
- I'm not workaholic so I don't come to work at night
- his car is better then mine
- luckily I have different hair color ;)

HalfLife? (or maybe HalfLife 2 because I don't remember seeing Gordon's car in the first one...)

Nope, never played any HalfLife game. Do all of my hints fit to Gordon's story? Because in the game I have in mind all of them do ;) And in a pretty straight-forward style (OK, the last one is subjective)

Well I've only play HL1 so I wondered if some of them were references to the second one (and episodes) But he IS a physicist and his experiments ARE dangerous (opened a dimensional rift to the planet Xen out of which all sorts of gribblies came!) and his hair colour IS undesirable (ginger!)

Hmm.. Back to the Future - the Game almost fits but then you'd be counting Doc Brown and not Marty as the protagonist, which would be weird...
(You'd also have to ignore how bad DeLoreans were in real life too, I guess)

In HL2 he gets a car. I don't know what Ghorpm drives, but I'm positive it's better than this.
