So if I wanna play it I would need to open
Epic Games Store and
Rockstar Games Launcher..

And if one of them were to ever go down, I would lose access to the game.

And there is no way to avoid this issue because the button changes to "Play on Epic" on Rockstars launcher.


I'm tempted to buy the game for £11 on GreenManGaming just because of that.. Lol.

I might not do it because it will still have drm, so its not much of an improvement.
What do you think?

For those unaware, Arxan is an alternative to Denuvo. There simply is no "good" version of GTA V due to Rockstar's ongoing fetish for multi-layering DRM. All you're doing is paying for 2 layers of DRM instead of 3 which is no practical gain when all versions are already beyond the threshold at which it makes any difference.

I'd say not to do it. You already have the game for free, so play it. And even if you want to play it in the future, it's almost certain that it will still be there. Rockstar and Epic aren't going away, and this game is too huge to go away also. Rockstar recently updated GTA IV, so they'll update V if they need too.

If you buy it, I think you'll just be wasting money.

I'd not worry too much; you got it for free; why worry about losing access to something that you haven't paid for?

Play the single player campaign through, enjoy it and then don't worry about it. If you have a burning desire to replay it in five or ten years time and it works, brilliant - if not, what have you really lost?

It's not like it should come as a surprise. Rockstar have a history of doing this, even on behemoths like Steam.

yes, very good idea. and to make it really hurt, buy many copies. buy 1000 copies, that will show them!

Don't bother. Both versions have DRM so you might as well get the free one. If Epic ever goes out of business just buy GTA5 then. Ideally DRM-free on your favorite store.

GTA V on Steam has double DRM (Rockstar Club), and now EGS too? - surprise, surprise...

In a few months/years: OMG, Rage 2 is double DRM with Bethesda (or input here any new game from Origin, Ubisoft)

Even if there is one less launcher involved, if it ever goes down, you would still lose access to the game. If this is your chief worry, why pay them when you can try it for free?

Oh no, big shock. I'm so shock, I'm going to die. Really... is anyone surprised? It's old news really. GTA V was updated with Rockstar Launcher ages ago.

So, because you don't like DRM, you want to reward Rockstar, who included that over the top DRM in their game, by throwing money at them instead of playing their game for free (or not at all)? That's some strange logic.
