No hype for this game here? I wonder if it's coming to GOG? It's made by Petroglyph Games, some of the folks who made C&C:

Wonder how much it is.

I feel like they coulda picked a better name.
i saw the title and thought this is going to be another tinyP subject
but apparantly not
I've seen a trailer of Grey Goo few months ago and read about it few articles - it looks like it's being made especially for me :D I hope it gets to GOG!

It's not meaningless - the title has strong explanation.
The devs say it will come to Steam first, but they will look into other platforms:

It may not be meaningless, but it sure sounds silly.

Steam offline mode and true DRM-free on GOG is different. Most people don't get that lol. Anyway, I'll check the price on steam. If it's reasonable, I'll get on steam and double dip on GOG during sales. Or wait for GOG version.

Nah, it rather catches my attention. Anyway, I can't wait to see it here :)
I don't understand why the title doesn't sit well with many people. Is there an awkward reference ?

It reminds me of World of Goo. It also reminds me of the "Blob" movie, which is not what I expect from a studio that is known for RTS games (like Empire at War and Universe at War).

zeffyr is correct. "Grey Goo" refers to nanotechnology/A.I. going out of control and taking over the planet.
I'm really afraid that this game might be Petroglyph's ruin.

They had one successful game which was Star Wars: Empire at War (+ Expansion). Universe at War was a huge fail saleswise (and it's multiplayer was crippled by the fact that the game required Games for Windows Live and asked you to subscribe for a Live Gold membership for standard mp features). Then there are several online games for Windows which nobody have ever cared about and therefore been shut down. Finally there's the unsuccessful Kickstarter campaign for Victory.

And now there's Grey Goo. The title appears to be turning off quite a lot of people. From a PR perspective I don't think it was very well chosen. The PR department doesn't seem to do a great job anyway. If there's one type of commentary on the current reports about the game it's: "Grey goo? What's that`Never heard of it".

The only thing that MIGHT prevent a disaster is the gameplay which has to be more than than just good. And considering that none of Petroglyph's games were really great I'm not getting my hopes up. Empire at War and Universe at War were quite fun but far from amazing and suffered from bad netcoding.

Good luck Petroglyph! You guys seem to have lots of ambitions, hopfefully this will somehow work out for you.

Heh, heh, there was a time I was seriously thinking about focusing my scientific career on nanorobotics but then I decided it's not for me. Don't get me wrong, I still think it's awesome field of research but I always preferred to work at the boundary of science and industry while at this moment nanorobotics is purely scientific. So if grey goo scenario ever happens don't blame me for it ;) On the other hand sooner or later nanorobotics will reach industry and if I'm still good enough to refocus maybe I will... OK, blame me all you want ;P
Oh wow. I'm slightly stunned. The game was released today and the price is... The price is... Just wow.

46 euros and it contains soundtrack. Or 8 euros for soundtrack only.

No way I'm getting it outside GOG!

Please, dear GOG staff - bring it here with soundtrack included! :-) Pretty please!
