When I was a kid the 1st console didn't show up until grade school so I had to play on a PC.

I grew up with consoles, but always wanted a PC, not for gaming but because it was *the* hot shite, but expensive af, and useless for a poor family. Yet the old man always promised me one for learning, which took a loooooooooong time to be realized, so the entirety of my childhood up until my teens it was consoles. And being a breed of the 90's it was Mega Drive/Genesis, NES/SNES/GBC/N64/GC, PSX/PS2 (this last being the only one I've actually bought, the rest it was borrowing/trading).

Anyway, first decent PC I got, late teens, the process of learning how the PC works and getting into PC gaming was so unbelievably natural that I couldn't see myself buying any console anytime soon, perhaps ever.

It was love at first sight with the platform and one that took many, many years to be realized. And now that we are together NOTHING CAN STOP OUR LOVE <3

*Ahem*, even with the business side of gaming being arse on pretty much all fronts, I prefer the freedom on the PC. Can't see myself supporting the awful marketing on the console side. I still found of many games, and franchises, and a few of them are my favourite games of all time, but yeah, once I went full PC it's reaaaally hard to be found of any appeal of the consoles right now.

I didn't have console until I went to college and buy ps1. When I played console like new, snes, megadrive or even n64, it was always at my friends house. I however, got a PC. Starting with 8088 or 8086 (can't remember), and then 386.

Digger and Round 42 were two of my earliest game. And then there were megaman (the one with 3 bosses), golden axe, rastan, rick dangerous, and the almighty Prince of Persia the original one. Another most played were romance of three kingdom 2.

I remember that time. I had the Atari800, so Aztec, SpyHunter, Joust, and QuestRon, Realm of impossibility, Eidoln, PacMan, Fort Apocalypse, Caverns of Mars, and a hundred other games :)

I remember 'new' games that we played on PC. These were Blizzard titles like Diablo 2 and Starcraft, where setting it to DirectDraw and 8bit made the games play remarkably well.

I also remember a LOT of emulation, even on weaker systems. Genesis and NES emulation were largest players, while SNES could work, but not very likely or well unless it was in 8bit with Zsnes.

Then there was demo discs. Couldn't afford games so played the demos. Doom, Dungeon Crawler games, Ultima 6 demo, alley cats, 3D pacman for DOS, Jazz JackRabbit, Tyrian, and probably a thousand more I can't remember off the top of my head.

Grew up with NES and SNES. My first PC was a 100mhz Compaq Pressario I think. Somehow I discovered emulation on that, and this was like in 98, and it was too slow to play Chrono Trigger, but it played Secret of Mana fine. Made me very happy somehow because I moved several times and had to leave the consoles behind and those games weren't cheap.

I remembered playing a lot of Betrayal of Krondor, still the best PC RPG I've ever played to this day. A lot of Driver, Drakan, Tomb Raider 2, Need for Speed Porsche Unleased, Lord of the Realm. When I discovered Deus Ex that changed my life forever and gave me a new appreciation of games.

I didn't started playing the classic CRPG like Baldur's Gate and Ultima until early 2010s. It was GoG that really made those games accessible for me.

I am pretty much sick of the greed of the three main console makers today, I have not bought a single console since the PS2 and I don't see myself purchasing one anytime soon. Can't say I've bought many new PC games either.

I grew up on Table top, dice pen and paper games. Switched over to PC back in the 80s.

I wish I had a group I could play with consistently... at least locally, I'm sure I could find groups elsewhere, but I don't have the transportation to go 50-100 miles out of the way to play.

Sure did. Only console I've ever owned was an nes. Unfortunately I never learned how to properly use modern console controllers, which to me still makes using them a baffling and unpleasant affair. Even with fighting games. Give me mortal kombat and a keyboard any day.

I can proudly say I've never owned a console, I'm old skool badarse.

Started on the C64. Got an Amiga500 later on. Switched to PC in 1993.

Consoles weren't ever too popular here until the first PlayStation. I've had a PS2 and a Wii and have a PS3 now, but I didn't get any of them until I had a kid myself.
