badon: I have been playing Alien Shooter 1 and 2, and I have really enjoyed the non-fantasy RPG aspect of them. I didn't know I could like an RPG until I found one that wasn't fantasy. The Alien Shooter series are all isometric, and they work great on my low-end antique PC's. I checked out the Shadowrun series on your recommendation, and it looks like they have everything I like about the Alien Shooter series, but much more "serious", and it looks like they will probably work on my old hardware too. So, on your recommendation, I decided to get the Shadowrun series. GOG should give you a box of chocolates for Valentine's day :)
Hmmm, i don't remember any RPG aspect in Alien Shooter to be honest (unless you mean the ability to buy weapons etc, if i recall correctly), but then again i may be wrong since it was my wife who has been playing it. In any case, i'm sure you'll have a good time playing it and i'm fairly sure it will run nicely on any PC of the last 10 years at least. Oh, and chocolates? Nah, make it beer and we're okay! ;)

goglin: On first sight I thought this is the GogBear running around :P
Nope, it's actually the dog that ate GOGbear. :D
I've just received notification that The Little Acre and Revenant are on sale, but they aren't. Could anyone explain? Or it's some kind of false start of upcoming flash offers?

GOG often have similar bugs, and they seldom clear it up.
Usually, they said nothing about the bug, and let the bug as is.

kohlrak: I don't have it installed on this computer anymore, i don't think, but default controls for games usually bother me. I got to the end of the game, so I can't imagine playing without some way to reconfigure the controls. Keep looking.
avatar
Zoidberg: No, no. You miss the point: there ISN'T any way to reconfigure controls in that game.
A quick google search tells me that people are having trouble remapping certain keys but not others, which tells me it's in there, so keep looking.

Well, I haven't seen that. Controls option screen seems to be non responding. And apparently I'm not the only one.

So then you do acknowledge there even was a screen. That means you're dealing with a bug, not necessarily a lack of option to change the keys. This difference is important. Now, i recommend making a support request for it. IIRC, the game was pretty buggy overall, since they switched to a whole new engine. I remember having a lot of trouble trying to mess with it.
Of note: Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak and it's DLCs were added to the main sale. The only new additions today besides Flash Sales.

Previously in this thread it was noted that notifications are going out 2 hours early for the flash sales.

That may be what you're seeing here.

Hope this helps

PaterAlf: Multiple repeats? As far as I can see the only one so far was Darkwood.
avatar
u2020bullet: Shadow of Chernobyl as well, and as i haven't followed it from the exact start, there might have been another one.
I think Shadowrun Hong Kong is a repeat too.

No it is not a bug, if it had been, it'd already been corrected since release, being a blatant oversight.

Countless are the games where the controls screen is just a reminder of the controls and not a dutiful rebind screen.
Rayman 2 gets thumb-up from me at that USD price (until the last few levels, which I've beaten in the past but only because I was dealing with stuff and needed something to take my mind off, so I didn't mind wasting time on something repetitive). You can always just get it for the soundtrack.
Why is Metrocide still in the Gog catalog ?
It's the same dang flash sales over and over.

Yeah, but this isn't one of those gaes, so you're still wrong.

Yes it is. Go check it.
