im a little confused by this sale. there are games on sale but no new games will be added? also the flash part, are they always the cheapest price around? i'm seeing things like 50% off. this group of items rotate every 8 hours?

I don't think that the flash sales rotate, they appear once and when the timer finishes, they are lost in oblivion :)

Actually there were already multiple repeats of flash deals.

BartsBlue: I rarely comment here in the forums, but I wanted to say that the image for this sale is absolutely adorable and I actually will use it a my wallpaper. Pass the word to whoever designed it, please.
+1 . Totally agree with you. The designer did a great job!!! I am curious if it was made by a gog employee or an outside contractor. Nevertheless, awesome image!!!!
8 games now instead of 6... Nice, that means an extra 2 hours for each deal. Now people can get a good night's sleep without missing a deal. ;)

Multiple repeats? As far as I can see the only one so far was Darkwood.

Shadow of Chernobyl as well, and as i haven't followed it from the exact start, there might have been another one.
I grabbed the freebie before even looking at what it is, and now I find out that it's one of those awful NeoGeo ports, and now it clogs up my library. I would have never thought that I would one day want a refund for a free game.

There is an option to hide a game in your collection if you hate it so much.
aw man, all those games' pictures are so pretty and shiny!

but I have like 150 games installed and I just need to finish at least some of them first! :D

Pawel1995: [...] Steam stopped with the flash sales: Many people say that sales are "not the same again".

GOG tries out flash sales and people like you say they don't like it.

I have a similar opinion though :D I don't get what's great about flash sales, except forcing you to check the sale every hour, if you want a specific game.

HeartsAndRainbows: Well... "Know your audience", I suppose. Some people (seemingly mainly on Steam) are interested in an... " exciting shopping experience". Me? Not so much.

I would like to say that this does no harm to me personally but it's drawing away resources that could have been used fixing bugs or improving actual site features. Instead it has caused some new bugs that needed fixing...

Instead of digging out flash sales (and apparently completely revamping the interface for them) we could have had...
- Indicators on store pages for games that use DOSBox or ScummVM.
- Or even being able to mark games as <i>already owned</i>.
- This sounds swell as well: A setting to disable all <i>"social"</i> features (like facebook).
I think I got my point across.
We could really use some smart guy like Jshackles to make an "EnhancedGOG" type plugin for this site.

edit: I also see they got the Tempest connect redeem working. GG.

Zoidberg: No options in the delivered game itself.

kohlrak: I don't have it installed on this computer anymore, i don't think, but default controls for games usually bother me. I got to the end of the game, so I can't imagine playing without some way to reconfigure the controls. Keep looking.
No, no. You miss the point: there ISN'T any way to reconfigure controls in that game.
This time Kathy Rain. I have cash for max 2 more games before I have to transfer money to GOG wallet :-D

But will GOG deliver?
