I know there's a lot of cynicism about the decline of the community, yada yada, and god knows the website is going to hell in a handbasket, but I just want to say thanks to the many great folks who are involved and make this a great place for so many of us.

'Twas a rough summer for me and lots of people really chipped in to offer moral support and acts of generosity, and today two people went out of their way (mrkgnao and pateralf) to offer me mechanarium codes just because I had it listed on my WL.

The irony was that I'd actually bought a copy during the summer sale and was just saving it to decide if I was going to use it myself or include it in a GA. Now, well, there's probably no point in trying to give it away any time in the near future - like that 'Age of Wonders' copy I can't even blackmail anyone into taking. But I really appreciate that people would put time and effort into looking to make a stranger happy. Maybe it's not peace in the middle east, but it's still pretty great.

While I'm sure there was a grand old time in the past where things were better, as the internet goes, this is still a pretty neat place to hang out with some cool people.

Thanks!

It IS a great community. There are a metric crapton of "good" GOG'ers for sure.

GOGlodytes, please (unless anybody has anything newer and with more cowbell?!).

GOG'ers was the term used by some of the crowd then I landed here - none of them nice people at heart. None of them even found an amount of humour in the term GOGlodyte.

...Says a lot I suppose! O_____k

Edit: though yeah, there is still a community here and having visited other sites forums recently... well, it smells of poo over yonder!

*points at steamgifts, reddit etc etc etc etc

Edit: note for everyone - the "ch" at the end of the name in that song, is almost the same as the "ch" in "Sachys".

I'm guessing, and mind you, just a guess, the 'y' is silent. It might sound like "sacks" or "sacs" if you really break it down, but I could be wrong.

In my lifetime, I've seen a person named "Dweezil" and another "Moon Unit", now is that a made up name or a real name?

Edit edit- Thought Ciris was a guy and Snowkatt a girl....... I tried asking out Snowkatt without knowing....Damn Internet.

I knew of "hacky sack" from school, never played it, but watched others' play when I traversed the "yards".

you didnt watch the video, did you?!
- what you have just posted is an Americanisation of a middle European take on a hebrew name, not at all what I suggested previously... though, anyone who speaks hebrew should also have little issue in pronouncing it correctly - as long as they dont let immigration change it! ;)

both. its a given name, with a genuine meaning, though prior to me being given it, there was no record of it being a specific word in the language.
Ironically though, I started using it as it was part of an anagram of another name I'm far more widely known by.

Please, do forgive me Sachys, I had had no idea people had to exhale at the back of their throat while pronunciation your name. :(
