It's on sale this week and it's well worth the price. It's only discounted 20%, but to be fair, it's released few months ago. I bought it while on EA here on gog, and it seems all patches are bought here at the same time as steam patches. It had small inconvieniences on launch, but now it's fully patched, wonderful game.

You have picked the one and only example of Indev or kickstarter or any of that type of thing which is actually good. It took a long time to come out of InDev, but it is a good game, and the graphics are so fairytale.
So yes, I would agree, go buy it.

What?
There are a lot of good ones, here is a short list, there are more though:

Pillars of Eternity 1
Divinity Original Sin 1 and 2
Shadowrun 1 and 3
Ghost of a Tale
Darkest Dungeons
FTL
Wasteland 2
Elite Dangerous

Then soon to be releasing games that already are showing to be excellent based on what is released in Early Access/beta access, or extensive Streamer playthroughs:

Overload
Battletech
Pillars of Eternity 2

Where am I exaggerating? This is the one and only example of a product which was not finished, which I put money into, which I deem to be a good investment. True, I don't go in for many.

You didn't mention "games that you had personally backed". :P You merely said it was the only good one, and that is quite hyperbolic. While you may not agree, Pillars of Eternity was quite successful, and I'm not the only one who loved it. Hollow Knight was exceptional, and still is receiving updates. Shovel Knight is an exceptionally fun and successful side scrolling platformer. I can go on, but that would start dragging out.

POE was dull, quite frankly, on two play through's. Hollow Knight I think I got into the second world before giving up on. Not played Shovel Knight much, other than bouncing on the dragons heads, it was ok for an old school platformer. I didn't back either of those though in any case. Don't know if there are any metrics on these things, found this:
https://www.digitaltrends.com/social-media/infographic-kickstarters-successes-and-failures-by-the-numbers/
Seems to indicate a 50% success rate. Whether you think thats good or not, I don't really care.

Anyways, nub of the response, Ghost of a Tale is good.

Your "which I put money into" condition was not present in your previous post.

Granted, the definition of "good" also changes from person to person, so "the one and only example of Indev or kickstarter or any of that type of thing which is actually good" may very well be completely correct depending on what you consider to be "good". Continuing from that statement, I can't actually claim that you are exaggerating, even though it seems that way from my own point of view.

There are many of us who consider several other crowdfunded products to be "good". Even ones that others (including, perhaps, yourself) consider to be "bad". Shockingly, there are most likely even some who considers Ghost of a Tale to be in the latter category.

Sure. I can get behind Ghost of a Tale being good.I'll leave it alone. We can carry the rest of that discussion elsewhere if you want, or just drop it. :)

*Phew* I almost thought this was a "game is going to go away" thread!

So I'll bite - I've been interested in it because frankly, it looks gorgeously whimsical. And I love the Secret of NIMH in medieval times vibe...

... but is it really an RPG? Or is it more of a stealth Metroidvania? Why do they describe it as RPG? New gear? Stats? Perks?

It getting removed was my worry, too.

From what little I played, you do have stats and equipment, but it's mostly a stealth/Adventure game, at least for the beginning portions (can't claim as such later on since I didn't get that far). Sneaking around, throw bottles at shit to distract people, try not to wake up the lazy guards, hiding in things, and so on. It might change later on, though, but from what I'm reading, it doesn't.

The game really seems to emphasize that you're just some wimpy little mouse who can't measure up to the threats around him in this world.

Cool thanks! A few odds and bodkins and a couple new weapons or armor bits are really all I "need" in something like this.

You play through an 80+ hour game you find dull TWICE? 0_o

There are also some skills, but they are pretty late.
