Heading for the finish line – 80% off.

Haven't gotten behind the wheel of this legendary racer just yet? Be speedy – because Race Driver: GRID will be leaving our catalog on December 31, 2016.

Considered one of the most timeless, refined moderns racers – we're sad to see it go, but you can still grab the game now at 80% off, all the way up until December 31, 10:59 PM UTC.

Vrrrrooom, vrrrrooom.

A brief trip down memory lane, this is how GRID was first introduced to GOG.com:
Rrrrrrrnnnn! EEEEEEERRrrrrnNNNNNN!

Vrrrrooom! If you like fast cars, tight turns, and pulse-pounding races, then today's release is sure to please: Race Driver: GRID--known in the US simply as GRiD--screeches over the finish line!

In GRID, you're a driver with dreams of going big: you start out driving in others' cars for money, but soon enough you'll start your own team, picking the races you want to compete in, buying the cars and equipment that you need to get the advantage over the other drivers, and traveling the world to compete. With 43 cars and 3 different regions to compete in--the US, Europe, and Japan--there's plenty to captivate adrenaline junkies. But that's not all: GRID also features an innovative "flashback" system, whereby you can rewind time a few crucial seconds to fix any sloppy driving or mistakes, avoid crashes, and generally gain the needed edge to win. With open wheel racing, demolition derbies, GT racing, there's plenty of variety in gameplay.

Real road courses such as Le Mans are in the game, as well as street circuits such as such as the Detroit and Washington D.C.. There are also a number of fictional tracks, such as street courses in San Francisco, and Milan, and Mount Haruna.

Is that enough to get your pulse pounding? Check out Race Driver: GRID

No Single race option in Hot Pursuit!

Blow me EA!
Was checking the game to buy it or not and noticed the "OWNED" sign. Looks like I already checked the game, decided it was good and bought it.

Codemasters'. Instead of paying for a perpetual license, they paid for a limited time one.
Shame, ta muchly for the noggins up.
Will pick up some giftkeys now for next years giveaways...
:D
Racing sims aren't really my thing, but I'm glad for notice it's being removed and the discount too
I already own this game, but thanks for the heads-up and the final discount, Codemasters and GOG. It even would have been better when the time period would have been more like two weeks instead of two days only. ;)

But please, GOG, think about a way to preserve the game card for owners of the game and not just delete it.

As always, I really do appreciate that GOG lets us know about these things. Their focus on their customers is quite a contrast to Valve and Steam.

For some reason I had a feeling recently that this one would be disappearing. I will pick it up before ti goes.

so let me get this straight. Codemasters didnt want to play the car brands the license in a perpetual fashion but instead did it once? they are fucking stupid and cheap.

Ideally GOG would keep the gamecards accessible. Since they do not, I resort to saving them locally on my machine.

Archive.org's Wayback Machine will possibly have gamecards saved, but possibly without any "Read more"s expanded and not all the reviews.

I save gamecards by using three browser plugins/scripts.
They provide:
All the "Read more"s will be expanded.
The "Included goodies" list will be expanded, when needed.
All the reviews are on one page.

Not my kind of game, but thank you for letting us know beforehand.

This is exactly how I bought XIII few years ago, when it was being removed from catalogue.

Hyptronic: This is why I love GOG for actually letting us know 1st hand before it's too late. I wonder now if it will be removed from the Steam store as well.
I recall a couple of years ago when GOG notified us of a publisher that was pulling it's games form GOG. GOG gave us about a one week's advanced ed notice. I was new to GOG and still had plenty of time to look at all the games and purchase several of them.

Sufyan: This is a great racing game. It is an arcade racer with a realistic feel to it. It isn't a simulation as you won't be doing any tweaking and the races are not set up like real world races, but you have to drive with realism in mind. No accelerating into corners, bouncing off of your opponents and stuff like that. The presentation is super slick and catchy and the races typically last just long enough to avoid becoming a slog. Expect high speeds, narrow track widths and impossible light conditions during street races. Seriously, driving through narrow San Francisco streets is truly a challange as you are constantly blinded by alternating sunlight and murky shadows with an extreme amount of visual clutter all around you!
not bouncing of opponents? That is one of my favourite things to do, use the car in front of you as your brakes, and subtly nudge them into tire barriers when they try and overtake you. I've ended races with only three wheels, very limited steering and almost no body panels left.

Bonsewswesa: There really needs to be some clause in these contracts that requires games pulled from sale to remain available on an archive somewhere, like a WayBack machine for games or something, so there's some official way to preserve them outside of personal collections.
Pirates are the current archivist for games, you can still find most of the games GOG removed on pirate sites, you just need to know where the pirates has buried their booty

Always sad to see a game disappear from the catalog, but thanks for the heads up and discount.
