The IMDB forums were closed last year in February.

drmike: I seem to recall one of the index websites taking all of the data that had been contributed by their users and making it private under their copyright and licensing it off for profit.

Wasn't that IMDB? Asking because I can;t find anything right off so it may have been a different website than IMDB.
Possibly. I don't know what happened to the data from IMDB forums after 20 February 2017, when the forums were closed.

What I do remember is that before the closing date, some, most or maybe all of the forums' data was saved by various skillful individuals. There were some reddit threads on the subject, and if I remember correctly, I think it was something around 400 GB of data. That data was imported by moviechat.org, which I'm happy for it.

Ok so I saw this movie like two years ago I think or maybe it was last year. Basically a girl goes to find her cat at night and she gets helped by someone who kidnaps her. The suspect is the dad who was hiking that day and everyone thinks he did it on his way back from hiking. A famous detective comes in to investigate and he gets the media involved to pressure the situation. So it is in some foreign small town flooded with media, the dad his wife and daughter on cooped up inside and again everyone thinks he did it. The detective discovers that this kidnapper is a serial killer who every year or something targets blond haired girls and for some reason the color red keeps popping in my head so maybe they have to be wearing red? I cant remember. Any suggestions?

So there's this movie called "The Vanished" that I think you might be talking about. It's about this family who goes on a camping trip with their daughter, but things take a turn when the daughter's cat goes missing and she goes looking for it.

Next thing you know, she's been kidnapped and everyone thinks it's her own dad who did it! But then this detective named Baker comes in and starts investigating, and he discovers that there have been other abductions like this in the area. He figures out that they're dealing with a serial killer who only targets blonde girls wearing red.

It's a really intense movie, and there's a lot of pressure on the family and the small town they're in as the media gets involved. The ending is pretty crazy too!
