I just love this period, the costumes, music, the way characters talk, apart from Barry Lyndon and Amadeus what are the best 17th century films?
Cyrano de Bergerac

Easily one of my fave top 10 movies of all time
La Reine Margot
Nevermind, actually takes place in the 16th Century.

Rob Roy (1995) was very good, Tim Roth steals the film with his performance.

Another good one, although technically an 18th Century period piece.

The Deluge (1974) Potop
Dangerous Liaisons (1988)
The Favorite (2018)
The Draughtsman's Contract (1982)

Apparently first two are 18th century but shouldn't be big issue as they're exactly in vein of titles you mentioned.

Elefuntitus: The Deluge (1974) Potop
I was just about to mention it too. ;)
Just an honourable mention, since it's VERY dialogue-heavy and you won't be able to get anything out of it unless you know your German:

Sachsens Glanz und Preussens Gloria: Graefin Cosel (Saxony's Pomp and Prussia's Circumstance: The Countess of Cosel)
Sachsens Glanz und Preussens Gloria: Bruehl (Saxony's Pomp and Prussia's Circumstance: Bruehl)
Sachsens Glanz und Preussens Gloria: Aus dem siebenjaehrigen Krieg (Saxony's Pomp and Prussia's Circumstance: From the Seven Years' War)

and it`s sequels.
Uhm, okay, GOG doesn`t like links to Wikipedia.

Just look for "The three Musketeers" on Wikipedia.

Did they wear powdered wigs in the 16th century? If so I'll allow it.
Tulip Fever (the English Wikipedia is more negative than the German one - unsatisfied viewers because it's not a Hollywood flix?).

Crosmando: Did they wear powdered wigs in the 16th century?
Did a little research and the wig thing apparently started out in the second half of the 17th Century (Louis XIII going bald prematurely, starting to wear them and the other European courts jumping on the bandwagon because back then everything French was the bees knees).
Still strongly recommend watching La Reine Margot though, especially in the original French, if you can.
