looks like we can't buy discounted games as a gift, when not owning them. so far this only applies to the insomnia games, but could be implemented on every discounted game. this is a hit to condemn trading here.

wtf gog?
Also, regional price is OFF when purchasing as a gift. For me personally means, I can't donate high-priced titles to giveaway anymore. Financially, it costs me about my monthly limit for just one such bought-as-a-gift game. : /

Boxed localized games - yes, although its a while since I purchased one, reason being... GOG =). No scratched CDs anymore and no DRM like Steam. That combination is a personal thing.. maybe I am not alone here.

Boxed console games - I never liked consoles, so I can't say anything.

interesting, i always thought pubs jack up the prices (or lowered online prices) for boxed copies to force people in russia to buy online

Many titles actually require Blizzard or Valve activation, and still include DRM; while Steam often offers discounts and has no scratchy media.

Here is example - Van Helsing. It costs 399 Rub here on GOG.

do you know if there is a russian online shop that sells a russian boxed version of this game: inhabited island prisoner of power (2007) and would ship it to germany?

this games seems to be sold in russia only.

More like nobody wishes to sell it. With AG rating of 27/100 - both by staff and public user poll, its hardly worth shipping costs. No offense here.

PS. I would think best bet is to purchase it off ebay, when it appears, IF it appears.

It's really annoying, actually wanted to buy a few gifts. :l
Perhaps it's due to the really limited quantities this time.

I really hope not.

It's to prevent "trading", as in, stockpiling discounted games. Discounts are meant for living customers, not for middlemen such as the OP to make money off resale when the price goes back to normal.

Considering that they do encourage you to gift games in the insomnia FAQ, I'd say they do not condemn trading.
