Well, need to check BFE thread, ignore my post everyone, carry on with what you were doing.
Pretty sure you can trade it in for a free copy of Teenagent.

Don't worry, if you didn't hear about it beforehand it'd be a bit weird to have it just pop up out of the blue.

Every day, regardless of whether or not they're available on GOG.

On the subject of rep, there really and literally is NO benefit to it. It's an arbitrary number with arbitrary values and people attach arbitrary sense of worth over.

I've said more than my fair share of controversial things and my arbitrary numbers usually stay pretty stable. Once you realize that what equates to people "smiting" you on other forums, has no real impact on how you're perceived around here, unless it's attached to scam artistry or some seriously crappy statements, is the moment when you realize you're free to express yourself however you want, within reason.

If I take the time to de rep someone, I'll also usually offer a reason why, but sometimes, someone will say something so toxic or foul or objectively stupid, I'm not GOING to take the time out of my day to tell someone why they're an asshole, unless they've really gotten under my skin, which is a rare occurence.

Is it incredibly basic and flawed? Absolutely. It's still just numbers on a website, with no real actual value, folks. It's no different from people who become arbitrarily attached to their postcounts. It's not important.

But if numbers... have no value... then I...

You are powerless to do anything aside from either run away after making a grand display, or stop caring about something that doesn't fucking matter.

monkeydelarge: If a large number of GOG's customers complain, then GOG will have to do something. Because GOG is a business and they want to make as much money as possible. And in order to do that, you have to keep most of your customers, happy.
Someone else observed that there is likely a considerable disconnect (in terms of influence through purchasing power) between GOG's customer base as a whole and the community based in the forums. If the majority of GOG's sales and customers have little or no investment in the forums, then they may feel that there's little incentive to address problems with the forums, beyond the doing the bare minimum necessary.

There, there. It'll be alright. Here, a pretty little thing to take your mind off those bad words.

I'm here just to make all of you little babies whining about your rep numbers feel better. Everyone look at my rep. Then make it worse. It doesn't mean anything. The only rep that actually means anything is the one in real life, not a stupid gaming forum.

"Look at my rep. Now look at yours. Back at mine. This rep is what your rep could look like with Forum Alts. Back at your rep. I'm a dog on a horse."

Doo de doo de doo de doo doo.

How hard is it to understand,it's the cowardly abuse that comes with it?

Does everyone here like being stood over by stand over merchants that
think they are genuine tough guys by hiding and de-repping people?

I've seen a lot (rep doesn't worry me crap) and then when they get
derepped, cry and say why am I being derepped?

It is fact here that if you say something,as in opinion you get derep.
People don't all agree on the same facts,no matter how crystal clear
it is that they may be wrong.

That cat is black and white. No,it's brown and white.(derep).
Why can't dereppers have the guts to stand up and say they
disagree with a (beg to differ) walk away and leave it like
that. No,it's too easy to say ''fuck it,I'll derep this prick''.

Have a good evening/day/afternoon,dereppers and keep up
the good work of putting people down from the shadows.

tinyE: I do.
I played Nox yesterday, does it count? I just arrived to the Land of the Dead, I suppose I should be pretty close to the end already.

Odd game considering how fast most of your armor and stuff deteriorate, and fixing them in stores costs much more than what I get money from adventuring. So what I need to do is to run around almost naked (just so that my armor etc. don't need fixing afterwards => saved money), and wear them only if I face some boss or other much harder enemy.

What's the point of finding kick-ass armor, if you are afraid to use it 99% of the time? Fighting in my underwear doesn't feel too heroic.

Other than that, it is pretty nice lightweight action-"RPG". Very little to do with RPG though even if you apparently receive experience points which don't seem to change anything. Closer to Gauntlet or something.
I love this thread and all the butthurt in it.

And I was told australians were good at banter. This guy losing his shit because of internet forum rep points is fucking priceless. El oh el.

Oh and g-guys please don't downvote m-me okay? Hahah...

We aren't going to derep you. You live in South America so you've obviously suffered enough trauma as is.

gunsynd: As the title states,I get up at 3am Oz time because I've had a fucking gut full of this
de-repping shit.Unlike most of you I'm proud of my rep and got it by helping people
solving problems.I haven't done a GA as I believe it's just a rep buying system.I have
given games away to people who I think have deserved without all the ''big noting''.
This is an attack on myself and the only way I see it stopping is to ask Gog to DELETE
my account.Gog you can do one or the other, but resolve this now and not in 6 months
time.

This has been copied and sent to Gog support.
If I,or when I get a reply I will post it here.
Déjà vu but weren't our names reversed? :P Since I went on my merry silent way months ago, I have noticed your rep going up by the maximum amount every single day. I have coincidentally noticed mine appears to take a hit (I miss the days of 666) even though I have barely posted a thing in months.

After stepping away, the conclusion of "it seriously doesn't matter" sank in. I was a bit sensitive about other things, like you may well be now in life, and it just compounded what was already within, rather than to create it. If you are well liked and help people as you say, keep enjoying yourself as I'm sure has been echoed in almost every thread about rep.

A friend suggested I install this script that hides all rep features. I haven't tried it but it might help.

Sometimes life has a way of smacking one really hard in the face to put the little things in perspective. I hope you don't get a smack like I did recently, as I'd rather be upset about the silly little things again (or even laugh them off) than to experience a loss that I valued far more than rep.

*wonders what my rep will be when I post* :D

THE FIRST RULE OF REP CLUB IS DON'T TALK ABOUT REP CLUB!!

Edit: if you are serious about deleting your account, here is the relevant info -

"11. How do I cancel my GOG.com account?
We have no idea why you'd want to do that, but if you will ever want to cancel your GOG.com user account, please contact us via the "General / Website questions" contact form. After verifying you are the owner of the account in question and confirming that you want your account to be permanently deleted, our support rep will mark your account for deletion. From this moment on, the account will be inaccessible, and after 30 days it will be irreversibly wiped from our database. Please remember that without an account, you won't be able to re-download your purchased games as well as any additional content available, including updates and patches. Also, we don't store your payment information and, if you don't want to receive newsletters from us, you can always unsubscribe via your My Account -> Account & Settings page. Most importantly, following the 30-day "grace period," account deletion is permanent. It won't be possible to “recreate” the deleted account later, if you change your mind."
