Note: By absolutely no means, am i trying to difamate this website on its subsequent forums! All im trying to do, is have a conversation about a recent issue. Any person who claims that i am making such claims, should either leave the thread or get pointed out as poisonous and falsefuly trying to "injure" my account! Therefore, those users should suffer consequences for such innapropriate actions!

Hello there to all users. What i wanted to discuss with you is what you think of Gog.com support? I recently asked them to change my username and it was being, quite honestly, a very unpleasant experience, untill someone finally came up and indeed did change username. The reason why i changed it to begin with, was because "DevilHeartEyes" is a pretty creeped up name and what in the world was i thinking when i made an account with such name eh!?

On topic now, they were refusing to help, because i couldnt provide them with enough information, altough the information they required, date of account creation, was just not possible for me to lend, since i made this way back 2-3 years ago and i could only get the gmail Epop date of activation, which wasnt associated to it until recently. Outlook, doesnt at all provide any information regarding creation or activation dates sadly :(. But, after i had shown to be angry, in a mannerful way that is, they helped me. I really wanted to say that this website was trustworthy, incredible well done and its support was way way better than what the non existing support, Steam, has to offer. I think i can now say its good, but it certainly stayed below expectations, but not very much.

I dont want to make this too big or bothersome to read and i dont know if it follows the website rules, to post some of the conversation i had, but i supose it shouldnt pose too much of a hassle to just show parts of it. Also, can you tell me what you think of Gog.com and possibly what happened in my situation?

Sometimes they're all right, often they're slow and sometimes they're not that great.
I have always found them to be pleasant, honest and helpful:)

SkyExplorer: *snip*
You could have looked at "Orders & Settings". The day the free games were added to your account is the day of your account creation.

About the support generally: To me they have always been extremely friendly and helpful. And often my problems were solved within one or two days.
I've contacted support twice. It took several emails once, but the issue was sensitive and resolved much better than expected, so I am far from complaining. Perhaps you should keep you receipts in the future?
low rated
I tried changing my user name to MexicanFaggot.

They ignored my requests.

Well, it was an email and i had never purchased a product on theyr website before. Outlook refuses to assist people aswell. I had no idea you could get your account creation date by checking your free games. They didnt state such in theyr emails either :(

+1, never had any problems with them myself. But then I have only had one or two problems in years.

They cop a lot of flak and rarely say a word in return.I would love to reply to the flak for them:)
The one that still surprises me is what exactly changed theyr minds about changing my username. Clearly they werent performing well towards me but i didnt give them the information they were so demanding on. Wonder what it was i said or someone noticed and changed.
GoG support is great! Or put simply, it WORKS! They helped me solve several issues on several instances, very effectively and quite fast, too! Only twice they provided me with a slightly irrelevant answer (it wasn't of a technical nature, though), only once they got back at me with a delay and that's all!

If i bother to count how many times Steam support delayed, provided me with TOTALLY irrelevant answers to my ticket and most importantly, that for ALL of my issues they 100% failed to provide me with a working solution for the game i needed each time (this is neither hyperbole, nor lie), then i say; "GOG is GOD". Technical support wise... Steam, on the other hand... Ah. Those were the times!

Well, I wouldn't pursue the issue anymore if I was you..
I've contacted support several times and they have been always very helpful and kind.

Well, you could have asked to change it to MrBrainsFaggots and then claimed it was all a big misunderstanding.

(British users will get the joke)
