elgonzo: "Monstrosity" implies it is something extraordinary or special. 6 CPU cores and 32 GB RAM are anything but extraordinary/special in these days. Just because it may deviate slightly from some statistic mean does not make it unusual in any way. ;-)

ariaspi: They called it like that because for its size, it's quite a powerful system. Most people still buy their systems with 16 GB of RAM, and my guess is that more than two thirds of GOG's users have a weaker CPU than the Ryzen 5 3600.
GOG's marketing blurb does not mention anythin about size. I haven't seen the video (and i'm not going to watch the video, LTT is not my cup of tea), and my comment was strictly about GOG's marketing blurb.

Everyone is entiteld to their guesses... I have an i7 3770, which technically should be weaker than a Ryzen 5 3600, i guess. That does not make a machine with that Ryzen CPU "monstrous". Neither does repeatedly pointing out that many people's PC's are equipped with 16 GB RAM. A (private) PC with 32 GB was considered special/exceptional/outlandish 10 years ago. If anyone thinks PCs with 32 GB RAM are monstrous/exceptional/attention-grabbing/whatever today, well, then: Welcome! The future is now! ;-)

Anyway, perhaps GOG's marketing blurb there really makes only sense in the context of the video. So, maybe GOG was indeed referring to the power/volume ratio as you alluded to...

*Yawn*

An "above-average" computer, alongside an operating system that would make the Chinese Government proud... I'll pass.

Wake me up when you make a version running a Linux-based operating system or better yet, when you start actively pressuring developers to release "Linux" versions of their games (especially when dozens of developers on your site already have "Linux" versions in your competitor's stores!)...

Nice nifty case. The system is a monstrous gnome, indeed. I love compact and ultra-compact cases.

Perhaps their syntax is to blame. Because if someone ever threatened me with "a 32GB of Corsair LPX RAM whooping", I'd even be willing to turn the other cheque :P.

And no floppy drive either... THIS THING IS BULLSHIT!!!!

But seriously, the year is 2019 and the world doesn't revolve around your personal needs. Maybe consider social media like Facebook or Twitter if you feel a need to spout one sentence rants at the world.

I still have a DVD drive because I still found a good case that could fit one (Define R5). I use it once in a while to rip audio CDs to flac. And I like the idea that I can still use my games on CD/DVD (though that will rarely happen, since I have HDD backups for all of them).

It would've been ok if I had to use an external USB CD/DVD drive.... and you can do this with the PC in this topic. I don't think that there are a lot new small format cases with 5.25″ bays for sale anyway.

If they're gonna call it the ultimate game computer it better be able to handle basic stuff like playing games from a disc
