I've never had any issues DLing with DDs via my browser, no matter how big (I've DLed Riddick, Wasteland 2 DC, and lots of other large DLs.) That sucks for you, but, it's definitely not a GOG issue that persists I think.

timppu: You said yourself that your Riddick download failed also with the legacy GOG downloader... so why do you want GOG to keep supporting it?
As I remember they've already stopped supporting it at that point.

What I don't understand is that I don't have any issue with my connection anywhere else. I use steam every now and then and there I can download 20-30 Gb without any problem. Also I can download bigger files through my browser and I don't have to worry about anything. The only 2 instances that I struggled with downloads was using GoG. Now I don't know what counts as a good internet connection for you personally but I can download at 5,5-6 Mb/s but as many said that they don't have any problem with downloads it must be something on my end after all.

Of course it's GOG's fault. Some of those files are over 10gb in size and prone to corruption if anything goes wrong along the way. That's most certainly something that GOG is responsible for. They could provide better options for downloading those files.

That is one thing I wish they did have. Some type of file check at the end of the download to ensure it was done correctly.

That's why I wind up using downloaders. There's no particular reason why they couldn't use Bittorrent, Jigdo or something similar. Bittorrent itself allows you to just download the bits that have been downloaded incorrectly, you don't have to have it connecting clients together.

I've just never had any issues, even with huge DLs, even with mistaking my HD space and it filling up during a DL and having to move stuff and resume the interrupted DL, just never, ever, had an issue. There have been times where I was sure the integrity check was going to fail because of pause/resume things, and it didn't. Sucks that others have had problems, but I don't think it's the norm.

Then you're just incredibly lucky. Most parts of the US do not have internet connections good enough to count on it.

If I tried to download something like that now, I'd probably be fine though. But, before I got FttH, I'd literally downloaded 60gb of files before I could get a single good copy of WL2 to work with.
