HunchBluntley: they're trying to avoid getting stepped on by the Steam winter sale.
They are also trying to avoid Steam's fall sale, as well. Essentially, the schedule has gone somewhat like this the two previous years:

GOG fall sale (2 weeks duration)
Steam fall sale (2 weeks duration)
GOG winter sale (2 weeks duration)
Steam winter sale (2 weeks duration)

Last year's Winter Sale started in December 02 and ended in December 13 . ( 11 days )

221bBS: Might be the reason we don't have the normal Weekday sale that's normally posted today.
I think the sole reason for that is that there were two concurring promos (EA & Halloween) running earlier this day so i guess a third promo couldn't fit somehow. One of them already expired earlier (EA promo) but the Halloween one is still running.

Grargar: They are also trying to avoid Steam's fall sale, as well. Essentially, the schedule has gone somewhat like this the two previous years:

Wasn't there also an insomnia sale mid November last year. Could just be a random occurrence though.

Nope. Insomnia has, so far, occurred only once/year and 3 out of 4 times, it happened on spring. Only the original Insomnia was an autumn/fall sale.

I was mistaken in my previous post, just looked at the promo page and it looks like it will be over in ~2 hours from now, not on November, 3rd! You should hurry if you plan on buying something.

My mistake, it Crysis and Pacific Assault end on 3rd November, other EA games will lose discount sooner.

If I'm reading it right last weekend's sale lasts until Thursday morning. I'm not sure if the fall sale starts then or another weekend sale.
