Often there can be quite a lot of duplicates in the wishlist, which can each have quite a few votes on each, and it would be a terrible loss if the duplicate votes were indeed lost! Please tell me you add them together!

And so no one has to ask again, I suggest you put a message in the duplicate reporting window assuring the reporter that the votes on duplicate wishes won't indeed be lost.

That's a good question to which I sadly don't know the answer. What I do know is that GOG has a terrible habit of merging together separate entries for the original and the remade versions of a specific game whenever they release the latter.
Considering the database knows who voted and who didn't, then duplicates means all the people who voted would get moved to the proper wishlist and increase it appropriately... Merging would be unique votes, not addition of the two.
I'm standing at a crosswalk, waiting for the traffic to stop.

There's a button here. I mash it a whole bunch of times. It does absolutely nothing.

Still, I feel better.

So crosswalk buttons are the replacement for punching bags?

Do you know this for a fact?

Has anyone implied the latter?

I need to communicate better.
They've got more things to worry about then this pointless stuff.

I think a crosswalk button is a metaphor for wishing for new games on GOG. Maybe I am mistaken.

Well, in that case... you're hired! :)

Sure but we're still allowed to ask, right? :P

I'll play along too. I think he is trying to say that reporting duplicates is a pointless task because GOG doesn't remove them anymore.

Yay! I get to write controlled SQL queries to deal with specific tasks!!

Remove duplicates AND combine them. For instance, I just went and voted for all things having to do with "Rogue Spear". Many of those wishes and votes could all be combined into one wish.

Perhaps GOG is trying to drive up number of clicks and searches? No incentive to remove duplicates...

Ha! I love your enthusiasm. :)

♫ Because you know they're all about that beta, 'bout that beta, no alpha... ♫

As far as I know, dupes are either combined with the "top dog" wish or are simply completed on their own. (Occasionally I'll search for dupes and encourage some of the bluetexts' to complete them.)

Maybe it's time for a "dupe" thread linking to lesser-known duplicates that need to be completed.

The most egregious case being Grim Fandango of course; however, there is a new wish for "Grim Fandango Original Version" that people can vote on: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/grim_fandango_original_version

Also "Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge" still hasn't been completed, making me hope (slightly) that GOG will still bring some original versions are alternatives.
