RIthic: Finally got a reply after 3 days. But they said they can only give gog wallet refund but that’s not what I want. Is that the only option?
No, they were just kidding. Just travel to Poland and they'll give you the cash in hand.
In my experience people working in support are quick and nice. Why do you need people working at a videogame selling platform be quick as E.R. doctors anyway. Why can't you wait 48 hours? This is the Amazon culture, where employees are expected to be like slaves or robot.

GOG, in general, is pretty bad at explaining they're reasoning for rejection even when you reach out to support to get a clear answer you get the same PR parroting replies. worse is getting banned for just using a word that isn't really offensive unless you fit that critiria and they expect you to fall in line with threats with a perma ban if you don't comply.

That's all they(or most stores that sell games) offer....it's either that or nothing, sadly.

But why can't you make use of it/why don't you want it? Surely you might buy more games here and make use of those funds?

My guess? He isn't here for the DRM free games. He just bought one because (at that moment) it was cheaper than on other stores.

Fair enough, but he might buy more here(cheaper prices in other sales) and it's better than eating the cost. :)

Also as I said, I don't know what he was expecting.....most game stores(even IRL) usually don't refund games after a set period(and some don't refund them ever) via cash refund.

I thought witcher 3 would work on my laptop but it has major stuttering issues even with lowest settings. I only clocked like 12 mins on galaxy. I’m not really interested in other games right now. It should be easy to do a paypal refund for them I thought.

Kinda weird they won't do it, to be honest. When I got tired of their curation and they refused to give clear answered I got all my games I bought recently during that period refunded to me.

And did you read the system requirements before buying it? You don't provide us with enough information to understand your predicament. For all I know you're the kind of person that would buy an xbox one game for your super nintendo.

As I remember, I've had one time that GOG support was underwhelming...

... but...

many, many times when they've been fast, concise, and absolutely great.

In my experience, GOG has been the best storefront support -- regarding games -- that I've experienced.

Considering the DRM free nature of the Games here and hence GoG not having any control on you actually keeping and playing the game despite getting a refund a refund (even if only store credit) is actually extremly generous of them. Also Considering that you requested that kind of refund for "1/6 of your games"

It's not about easiness for them, necessarily, but legality and their business practices. Many game stores(online and offline) don't offer cash refunds(or credit refunds for credit purchases) in most cases, but instead offer a new copy(if the first is broken or defective) or store credit.

This is also done to discourage scammers(people here can easily copy the game to their PCs, say it doesn't work, and then try to get the money back....yes I don't think you are doing that, but that is likely one reason why they don't do such at all or often here) and because gog is a small store with smaller profit margins(so they go for store credit first and most times if not all times).

As for being interested right now: Well if gog does it then fine(paypal refund) but if not at least you can buy another game with the money....unless you want to let them keep the money, that is.

As said above to the OP, they likely cannot do it for all cases or as the go to procedure due to being a store with lower profit margins(also in your case they possibly wanted to be nice and/or maybe see if you'd buy more in the future if they placated you).

Ninja'd/hive minded, I see, and by a rather nicer reply(more clear and to the point) than mine. *tips hat*

Being nice has little effect when you make a valid point but get ignored for something many people here have complained about, Their curation system. my refund cost them 60 euro's and their ignorance cost them more and I just don't mean only me, but their curation drives people away.

This refund does remind me of the lack of research people do before buying a game. I have some games that don't work on my PC but I blame that more on myself for not doing the research before buying them.
In my experience, GOG support make take few days (except payment issues - then they reply much faster), but it's always competent and friendly. And when they can't sort out the issue - and even when it was my fault (system requirements, accidentally bought game, when I wanted a gift code, and then gogrepo had already downloaded it), they offer something nice to deal with the situation.
And of your course people who already spend hundred of bucks here are treated as more reliable when some mistake happened - every store owner would act this way. This has nothing to do with "whales". In fact I believe that many of the old timers here do not spend that much money, because we all already have many games and are fighting our backlogs, but maybe I'm wrong and it's just me...

I think it'd cost more to overhaul and change their c*ration system/etc than to give someone a refund and move on to the next customer....they are a business after all, and don't have to give people everything they ask for/usually go with the easier/cheaper options when fixing things.

Some, perhaps, but many likely either don't care enough to bother complaining(and buy anyways) or don't care about it at all.....as evidence by the lack of talk on the subject on the forums or elsewhere online.

Yeah more people are becoming more reliant on others to fix their problems for them or provide "easy outs" for their own mistakes after the fact, that is true.
