Maighstir: Do note that regional locking for Germany didn't exist on GOG before they started the German-language version of the site.
I remember, but maybe they were forced to introduce the lock at some point anyway?
If it was really just the localized forum fault then... meh.

Maighstir: the game will be released in Japan tomorrow.
21 April, not 21 March. :P

gamesfreak64: okay :D so if they would add a dutch forum for the dutch and belgium speaking, we might get region locks aswell ?
Well lets try it then, and let GoG make a dutch forum, if nothing happens, you can all stil migrate to Holland, come in and join the party...

Maighstir: If there are any games on GOG that actually are banned (or something similar to the German "index", I guess) in the Netherlands, then yes, they likely would block games from purchase through Dutch ip-adresses due to the fact that they can then be considered to specifically target Dutch customers.

Then again, Dutch likely isn't a big enough language that adding that language would be worth the cost (unless you count Afrikaans as a dialect, and even then it's quite unlikely).
Good, cause frankly i dont like dutch forums at all, many times i am ashamed of being dutch, cause our government is so weak, i guess around 2000 the problems began with weak governing, imho the 80-90s were the best years of holland, its pretty bad nowadays, and it gets only worse, the problems started with that euro, but the big boys will never admit that.

If i had a time machine, i travelled back to that era (the good era) and locked the machine so noone could acces it and it would always loop , always staying happy in the 80-90, never getting old but still keep all things i learned in the last 45 years.

I've done that mistake several times this past week. When will the timeline start agreeing with me?

That would be July ?
you could use that info to win the lottery and get billions by knowing which ticket will have the billion dollar price in july.

Hopefully July, yeah, so I don't miss my birthday and vacation with the family. With my luck, however, I'll miss July completely.

Cyraxpt: Honest question, did they ever promise they wouldn't allow region lock on their store?
No but they abandoned their 'one world, fair price' (and consequent 'equal worldwide availability') principle:

Well, I guess their credit store you get in the diffrent region might cover that, but they had either given everyone Russian prices - which would be a disaster for them - or give Russians euro-USA price - which would be the disaster in russia.
Eh, I think we're still coming out ahead.

Worst case scenario, you use a VPN to buy the game, or have someone gift it to you. You're no worse off than you are with any other digital platform. Once you endure that inconvenience, you have a DRM-free version of the game, and no longer have any issues.

The alternative, I suspect, is that the game isn't available here at all, and then nobody gets to enjoy it.

addp: snip
You can probably get someone to gift you a copy if you don't want to wait for April. They shouldn't have any restrictions on that.

That i already knew, not sure if the regional pricing was one of their principles, that's why i asked.

Yeap. But why are we discussing stuff that happened in April of 2011?
