Instead of giving rational arguments a troll downvotes everything you say…..this system belongs to reddit instead of here.Gog should be a platform for adults and good conversations without something like that.I hope this will be removed in the future so that people with too much time won’t abuse this anymore

Personally, I think it would just be better if the system gave you a way to see the votes that way you can see who is down/up voting. It puts people's skin in the game but still allows the ability to reward good and discourage bad input.

1. Downvoted comments or posts belong in these categories: Politics [Left or Right, though there seems to be an anti-right bias] or Posts that are critical of GOG.com or those that are doubtful of GOG Future.

So its not someone who "hates" GOG its just very political people or GOG superfanatics who have little no grasp on reality and that GOG can do no wrong.

2. Its likely bots, with how quickly the downvotes show up its unlikely its a group of people, doing it, it could be, but bots are faster quicker, and considering how old the forum software is, it would not be hard to set up and implement.

You would need thousands of people to accomplish the downvoting that often happens here so my money is on bots.

But yes the system I think needs to just outright go, or have reactions like in discord or other forums, and the user name is shown beside the reactions.

Yup, I've said this before lots of times, and so have many other people.

The "rep system" on GOG is inherently toxic, and it facilitates a way for gangstalking-type users and/or bot users to bully others into not posting, and to victimize & harass & shame & censor them (since downvoted posts are censored to new users and to people who don't enable the setting to see them) if they do post.

In other words, GOG's "rep system" is akin to rule by a crazed a mob and/or a crazed dictator, therefore it must be entirely abolished. That is the only ethical thing for GOG to do.

By GOG leaving the rep system up, GOG is fostering a toxic environment. Whilst that is true, that quoted comment is omitting a very vital point: if a user --- not a post, but a user --- has become targeted by the mob and/or bot-using abusers of the rep system, then all of their posts will be stalked, even if it is the most benign and/or truthful post in the world, and even if the post has nothing whatsoever to do with any of those things that you mentioned.

In other words, the gangstalkers/bot users systematically & relentlessly attack the individual users who they've decided to target, not just certain posts that they object to.

It’s one of the many ashes on the boycott list. Effectively when a post is low rated it is removed from most peoples view - new people have it hidden. It’s all bots automatically downvoting certain people and post with certain words in.
It’s been like it for years, like the purple dot fiasco.
I agree with another post here, show who votes up or down (and allow a comment maybe). The accounts associated would quickly be highlighted, but GOG have said they “can’t” do anything about it.
