Nezheadshot: Stubbs the Zombie:Rebel without A pulse was a fantastic game where you can run around as a zombie and eat peoples brains. It was pretty much Grand Theft Zombie, I really want to play it again and i think many of you would want to play it too. So hopefully we get a DRM free copy of Stubbs The Zombie as it was a fantastic game that i dont want to fade into obscurity
Hell, yes. I miss that game. There are so many fantastic titles that cannot be sold due to various reasons, licensing or otherwise.

Some of these on the top of my mind for the pc are:

Ominusha 3: Demon Siege

Deadpool

Mortal Kombat IX

Alpha Protocol (Music Licensing)

Driver: San Francisco

American McGee's Alice

No One Lives Forever

Drakan: Order of the flame

The Lost Vikings

And my personal favorite: Heavy Metal FAKK 2

Another guilty pleasure: Evil Dead-fistful of boomstick

I was going to make a joke about this being a thread that just won't die, but that is looking VERY PROMISING for a re-release.

I've been meaning to try my original disk version on my new PC for a while - now I'm wondering if I should leave it until we get more news...

The release date seems to be March 16 and that's not far off, so if it's true we should be hearing news soon.

I've never played the original game so I'm willing to try it this time.
BRAAAAAAAAAINS!!!
Aspyr, huh?

They'll probably release it on gog as soon as we get that KOTORII patch (ie. never)

armedready: I never understand why companies sit on rights & never release anything. Like when you buy something & never use it.
They do it all the time.

Heck, the ip holders of the game Toonstruck made a second part to that game(it was made in two halves) and never released it...despite that second part being nearly(if not fully) completed.

Darvond: Whaaaat, Disney the creator of the Disney Vault where they purposefully withhold video releases to increase the perception value towards them in spite of them being based on old public domain fairy tales and most of their newer versions are vastly inferior to the previous printed versions due to a digital blasting process removing detail from original cels?
McDonalds only releases the McRib on occasion(beyond pork prices) partly for the same reasons...to make it seem more special/valuable.

It'll likely be on console and/or with DRM.

GamezRanker: Heck, the ip holders of the game Toonstruck made a second part to that game(it was made in two halves) and never released it...despite that second part being nearly(if not fully) completed.

Development
The project began in October '93 and was completed over three years later in November '96. The total cost of production: over $8 million. The animation was produced at unnecessarily high levels of sophistication, exceeding even Disney movie quality. However, only 35% of this animation made it into the finished game. The game's engine was based off of Westwood's Kyrandia series' engine, and required the project's team to spend an extra 18 months ironing out bugs and glitches.

Sales
Virgin never quite recovered from Toonstruck. The cost to produce all that animation (and hire the top voice talent) was enormous, and the game was a commercial flop. This is probably the reason why the sequel, which set up at the game's ending, was never made.

My mistake.....it seems there actually was a bunch of cut content that WAS(along with more that was never made by the original dev team) going to be made into a sequel by the original makers of the game.

From the Wiki page: "After the game's financial failure, Virgin cancelled plans to make a sequel to Toonstruck, which would have used content cut from the first installment. Audio director for the game Keith Arem, who obtained the animation rights to Toonstruck, has expressed interest in re-releasing the game as a remastered version, which would include the second half of the game."

valentinbk: I'd love to see Disney characters as eatable NPCs for Stubbs.
The problem is, a lot of them don't really have any brain. ;-)
