Guys I do not know if is just me or if the server is stress out, I´m trying to download the baldur´s gate 3 game and I am getting the "install failed" message all the time, I try to follow the steps that GoG offers, but looks like nothing is working, so I would like to know if it´s just me or a general issue.

It's almost as if the game is a major release and every possible server and CDN is being hammered?
1. Download the offline installers, whether you use a web browser and go to your library or you go to the game's Extras tab in GOG Galaxy.
2. Run the offline installer and check the option to verify integrity. If any parts are broken, that means they failed to download completely.
3. If installation is successful and you want to use the game with GOG Galaxy, click the cogwheel in the top left, choose Add Games & Friends, then Scan Folder for GOG Games.

If you have Galaxy already installed, don't the games installed through offline installers get added to Galaxy automatically?

At least that is what happened to me when I installed e.g. Hard Reset Redux and ECHO with offline installers, while GOG Galaxy was installed too before them. Those two games appeared installed also in Galaxy.

Games that I had installed before installing Galaxy, like Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition, didn't get added automatically to Galaxy.

(I have later uninstalled Galaxy, I merely tried it out to see if I'd get faster and more reliable downloads for the offline installers with it, while abroad.)
I had a similar response late last night when opening the good old battle.net launcher. It might have easily been a month since i opened this up. really, diablo iv, having a hard time not to call that one a big loss and several games asked permission to update. Diablo iv, since i mentioned the game already, just started btw.. with dling. But at crazy low speeds. Kb's!!!! After that nonsense reached the deep inners of my mind, i just turned the pc off, depressed, and went to bed. This morning, everything was back in good working order. I guess, sometimes those servers just need to be awful. Yesterday there was also a national bank card failure, for about 40 mins. All due to some loss of connection in one of the distribution hubs. I bet those guys working there also had something like ' yeah, this is awful ' response going on.

My download for BG3 froze at 85% overnight. All good now though, just resumed w/ Heroic and verified integrity.
For me it started two days ago. Downloads dropped to an abysmal 300 KB/s. Yesterday after the release of BG3 it got even worse and downloads dropped to 50 KB/s.

However, as of today everything is back to normal (60 MB/s), at least for me. So it was either a temporary network glitch caused by switching the CDN servers that was exacerbated by the BG3 release and cured itself after all routers caught up with the changed routing or someone at GOG or their CDN provider is still busy at work fixing servers.

It's almost as if a professional business would have infrastructure in place to support the excess load these kinds of events generate.

This.

You want to run a digital distribution business on the cheap, don't piss off your customers by disrespecting them and then expect goodwill when your infrastructure falls over due to underinvestment and poor management.

They don't clearly value professionalism, or they would have abolished their nationalistic employment policies. For a few months they didn't have a product director, they're still missing someone to manage this herd of cats we call a community.

And that's only in titles and jobs they're publicly posting for.
Who would have guessed, the same people that infamously failed the Cyberpunk 2077 launch, allowed DRM-ed Hitman GOTY to sneak into the store, and yeeted all trust from The Witcher 3 by a wreck of a remaster, are as incompetent in managing their CDN? I see it as a continuation of this, and I'm worried what may come next.

GOG is one of the largest* companies in the world, the only big competitor to Valve's Steam, swimming in customer's money, why can't it hire professionals to prevent the ship slowly sinking with all the crew? I don't know what's to blame, the policies of hiring, the nationalism as some claim, or something else of discrimination kind. What's clear is GOG in this shape,—whatever the cause,—cannot do most basic things that are expected from a store.

This explains a lot, like, I felt it right away, unfortunately. The forum and the people do need care.

FUСK OFF TROLL.

Or post on your main account.
Excuse me for the offtopic, but is the 3rd instance of lupineshadow lashing out in rage with profanities. Can someone report and remove them? Thanks.
