I'm a gamer and this game offends me.

Remove it please you massive fucking hypocrites.

tfishell: Naw. Instead somebody should make a game of similar quality that GOG accepts where you defend your family, neighborhood, and business (various scenarios) from rioter-looters and maybe during a Civil War II. Nobody would mind that even if they don't agree with the politics, right? Since nobody is forcing you to buy or accept this and nobody would force you to buy that? I'd prefer a more open store. :)
Yeah I think gog.com should be a even more open store than Steam.
avatar
morolf: Yeah, probably, I don't really expect them to. But I wanted to register my protest. At least they should think twice in future about accepting games of this kind on their store. They reject plenty of other games as well after all.
avatar
iscagog: Completely agree. Even free "giveaway" games make them money. Anyone who doesn't see that is very silly.

You've registered your protest. Just don't riot about it :)

Best wishes
Oi, you got a loicence for that sarcasm?
I thought you were a supporter for freedom of expression? The principle (at least as it exists in my head) is that all speech except defamation and that which can harm people should be allowed, propaganda or not.

Besides that, there's the streisand effect to watch out for. If this were on twatter for example, you would've promoted this game even more by talking about it. When something is an obvious troll, the best way to get rid of it is to ignore it and let it die.

Enebias: If you need me I'm there calling the asylum.
Why? Are they supposed to make a movie about this?

At least gog shouldn't promote this farce
Tonight We Go To Sleep (Because It's Actually Pretty Late)

Has already worked... installing now. Now to find time to actually play it... See you in the news (when I've been brainwashed to go rioting...)

Oh God... oh God, they were right! They were right all long!
I just started a fire with a molotov cocktail in my neighbour's house and I didn't even have alcohol at home!
Don't play this game, it will turn you into an assassin -or worse, a COMMUNIST!

WinterSnowfall: But... many of the world's monarchies have been overthrown through violence in order to establish democracies or... other regimes.
avatar
morolf: I'm not in favour of monarchy, but that actually reinforces my point, just think of the French revolution and the Terror. Presenting political violence as an unalloyed good ("Let's just get rid of the capitalist exploiters, then we'll create anarcho-syndicalist utopia) like this game does imo is pretty questionable.
And "hidden agenda"? imo the agenda of that game is blatantly obvious, don't get why so many don't see it.
I don't think anyone would speak in favor of the French Terror, but I think you're rather naive in thinking that political violence is always evil. The French Revolution, although it went off the rails, essentially was the last nail in the coffin of feudalism and moved Europe and the world toward republican and democratic forms of government.

The reality of human history is that no ruling elite ever gives up power peacefully.

Also, the current world system is hardly "democratic" because those with the most capital (wealth) can influence politics far more than the common people can.

The people against rioting are those who are cosy with their position or thinking of Trump. Rioting is about being against the cosy people who try to shit on everyone, or think they are in a position to.

''Sources show the perpetrator was active on an online forum where it is suspected he planned his attack''.
Yup this little ole forum is gonna be famous.

I'd imagine most of the people against rioting just don't want their property destroyed.

That's not it.

morolf: Just watched a video of this game, its entire purpose is political propaganda. The game is calling for political violence and depicting the murder of police officers by setting them on fire with Molotov cocktails and the like. Its entire argument is that democratic politics is a sham and only violent action can be successful. Such antidemocratic propaganda shouldn't be sold commercially on Gog.
I therefore created a Wishlist entry calling for its removal:
https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/gog_remove_tonight_we_riot_from_the_store

If you agree that this game should be removed from Gog, please vote! We know after all that Gog is receptive to the complaints of gamers who object to certain games being sold in the store.
That's the whole idea. If it were about protesters/rioters on Tiananmen Square 'many gamers' would have gog remove this game quicker than you can say Winnie the Pooh.

Strijkbout: Winnie the Pooh.
Everyone likes winni the pooh. Why is this a meme? It makes people like China.
