morolf: But this game does none of that, it's promoting a downright manichaean, naive world view where political violence is unproblematic and THE way to create a better world. It's not just that this game has a political stance, but that it's propaganda, imo intended to promote similar attitudes (i.e. a positive view of political violence as something inherently good in the service of the right cause) in the real world.
But... many of the world's monarchies have been overthrown through violence in order to establish democracies or... other regimes. A "riot" is not inherently bad or necessarily unwarranted in a reality where it's quite rare for everyone to just get along. It does indeed need context in order to be judged, but this, in the medium of a computer game is moot.
Games are known to be over the top and overly violent. And this happens to be a politically-themed game with rampant violence, which apparently has affected you more than it should because this is not what you want to see in the real world. I assure you neither do I. But this is, after all, just a game, regardless of the indent its developers had for it...
If they actually have a hidden agenda of gaining political followers by creating this game, all I can say is that I wish them good luck :P. They'll probably get the loony bin rejects.
