Freelancer would be a nice addition....also the all caps wording at the end, while NOT a threat, is still a poor choice of words.

Have fun and enjoy your time on GOG, at any rate.

Not to be mean/nitpick but you could've at least told the poor lad what rule he broke.

Why do you think GOG hasn't tried to bring those if they know they'd make good money off them?
I might be wrong, but the reason that Freelancer will never come to GOG is much the same reasons C&C won't, in that they're both available as Freeware on numerous other sites.

That said, if it did become available on GOG, I'd definitely pay for it.
Freelancer free? Certainly is not. Wanted enough that there are probably quite a few counterfeit disc copies sold online.

There are quite many different rpgs sold on GOG but more would not be wrong.

It has been for some time and is available from numerous abandonware sites for download without legal challenge with numerous downloads.

I doubt anyone at Microsoft even knows who holds the license, or even if anyone could be bothered checking if the copyright is still active or who owns it. So unless someone fronts the money to pay legal to check, it will likely remain an abandonware title.

Thus, available for free, but won't be on GOG for the same reason so many older games will never make their way here.

As for abandonware legality / rights as a consumer / the absence of legal purchase options / the obligation of society to protect art - that's a big conversation topic for another thread.

Those games aren't free LEGALLY, though, and we've had many games listed/sold here in the past which abandonware sites also have.
The vast majority of games can be found "for free" if one so wishes. That is a better option than paying criminals for an illegal copy but that is about it.

Well it seems to be available at archive.org, is that not legal?

It depends. Sometimes stuff has had to be removed from archive.org which the site didn't have permission to host. You'd have to contact the site and ask I guess.

I'd have to ask archive org whether stuff they host is legal? Does that happen often? Aren't they swamped with such questions then?
We need Buck Rogers Countdown to Doomsday.
